🐾 GAK9 Certifications – Peak District & Surrounding Areas 🐾

GAK9 Certifications are available in the Peak District and surrounding areas.

The only true way to test a trailing team is through double blind trails, ensuring a fair, impartial and realistic assessment of both handler and dog.

Assessments are structured across four environmental classes, each with four progressive levels, designed to accurately reflect a team’s skill, experience and development.

✔️ No requirement to train with me prior to assessment.
✔️ Open to all teams who meet the assessment criteria.

If you’re a trailing instructor, assessment days can also be arranged at your own location.

Great work from Paddy on his 12th session today. He's doing so well and progressing at a steady pace.

Romi had me on knees on her trail as brambles got the better of me.

Remi's started on the edge of the road and then went over the wall.

Paddy and Remi then had a lovely walk together.

When you can feel the (very strong) wind coming across from the left it makes sense that your dog may head pop towards the blown scent.

Sway was doing exactly that on this part of the trail and at times also checked it out before coming back to the track.

However, it was very clear at the point she detected where the fresher scent was blowing across the track about 20m or so ahead of where the TL had turned.

As she turns in she almost pauses to locate the direction where the end scent pool is blowing from.

Some far proximity alerts are unquestionable! 😂

Just two teams on today's session which meant I was able to work both girls.

Lottie had an excellent article trail which I had laid before the session started.

Team Erko continue to make good progress and at this stage is still working free.

Paddy has recently progressed to fully Blind Starts and he is able to work in areas with third party contamination.

Here you see him following a path before the trail changes direction into very rough ground.

Due to the wind direction he did slightly over shoot but his body language was very clear where the scent was.

We were doing so well with the weather yesterday, until the heavens opened that is!

Amazing work from all teams yesterday with appropriate challenges set.

Paddy is now on fully blind starts with direction changes and up to 10 mins age - he's doing so well!
