🌾 NEW FLOURS HAVE ARRIVED AT PAKENHAM WINDMILL COUNTRY STORE🌾

We’re excited to introduce three new flours to our shelves, each offering something a little different for bakers of all levels.

🥐 Matthews Maizebite Golden Pastry Flour
A speciality pastry flour blended with maize flour to create beautifully crisp, golden-coloured pastry. Striking the perfect balance between flakiness and tenderness, it’s ideal for mince pies, pie crusts, sweet treats, biscuits and cookies.

🍞 Matthews Stoneground Light Rye Flour
Traditionally stoneground and lighter in colour than dark rye, this flour produces lighter rye loaves while still retaining many of the minerals and vitamins found in the bran and germ. Easier to work with and less dense than darker rye flours, it’s perfect for artisan breads and sourdough baking.

🌾 Matthews Stoneground Coarse Brown Flour
A traditional dark bread flour with 13.2% protein, producing wonderfully flavoursome and textured loaves. Milled to approximately 90% extraction, only a small outer layer of the grain is removed, creating a flour that’s ideal for sourdough, rustic breads and traditional brown loaf recipes.

Whether you’re baking delicate pastries, experimenting with rye bread, or creating a hearty rustic loaf, these new additions are well worth a try.

Nice to see mum hasn’t forgotten Tiny Tim and still fed him this morning. And then there were none! Now we have empty nest syndrome! Look out for the chicks today 👀

Update from the KestrelCam this morning. Four of the chicks have flown and the two remaining smaller ones remain. One is trying to workout how to fly! We spotted five, there could have been six, in the box early hours this morning so we think they’re still sleeping at night in the box.

We’ve all been wishing for rain, and the gardens certainly need it, but it’s hard not to feel a little sorry for the flo...
