Another Big Thank You is for the Big GREEN Market Burntisland for having us as the beneficiaries for the month of June giving us Β£1000 which will enable us to purchase a silent nebuliser machine which will help hedgehogs with respiratory problems and also a silent red light therapy machine which will help treat wounds.

We also raised an enormous total of Β£492.25 on our gift and tombola stall and would like to thank everyone that supported us at the stall last week πŸ‘πŸ‘

**If you find a hedgehog trapped in something please contact a rescue. Don’t just free the hedgehog or remove what is stuck on the hedgehog and let the hedgehog go as injuries may of occurred and infection will set in so they need to be checked by a rescue or vet ***

On Thursday Sam and her daughter spotted a hedgehog laid on the grass in Kirkcaldy by the White Heather pub.
Knowing a hedgehog shouldn’t be out in the day and especially not laid out in the open they picked the hedgehog up and took to St Clair vets.
The team there gave us a call asking if we would rehabilitate the hedgehog as he had an old wound to his head that they were going to clean up.
When they started to clean the wound they realised he actually had a huge abscess 😒
This was drained and cleaned and Rowena one of our volunteer drivers went and collected him.
He returned to the vets on Friday to have the other side of his neck cleaned up.
We believe he has had his head trapped in something and whatever it was has cut into his neck.
He could have eventually freed himself or someone may have freed him but whatever he was stuck in has caused injury and infection 😒

Thank you to everyone that came a long to our stall today at Burntisland Civic Week in the Church Hall and thanking the organisers of Civic Week for allowing us a table in the hall πŸ™

We raised a fantastic sum of Β£157 on our tombola and gift sales.

Massive thanks go to Noleen Park and her husband Andy for all their efforts in getting Rosie our mascot all kitted out in her Kilt and for making the brilliant flags to be flown alongside in the parade πŸ‘πŸ‘

**If your dog picks up a hedgehog NEVER just let the hedgehog go. Please get the hedgehog checked by a rescue or vet πŸ™πŸ»
This poor boy was out in the day today and came for a check as was a suspected nursing mum only to find these big infected puncture wounds from a dog 😒
If you know there are hedgehogs in your garden please keep dogs on leads for night garden visits πŸ™πŸ»

You may remember our post from the 3rd June regarding a mum and two Hoglets brought to us after their nest had been disturbed when a container they were nesting under had been removed.
Poor mum was left trying to keep her babies warm and was seen walking about the garden with her babies under her 😒

Today was 7 days since they were admitted so we gave mum and babies a quick check.
Pleased to say all is going well and mum is doing a fantastic job πŸ€©πŸ’•πŸ¦”πŸ¦”

We always leave mum and babies 7 days when they arrive as we need mum and don’t want to cause her stress and for her to neglect or eat her babies.

Thank you again to Kathleen for bringing them to us 🀩
