This has been so hard for me to post, last week my trixie girl went into labour, she first birthed 3 empty water sacs, which were extremely difficult for her to birth, she was exhausted, then her first puppy entered the canal, it was moving down but quite slowly, she did so well. But then it stopped progressing as it was so close to being born. At that point she also started showing signs she was struggling, we took her to the emergency vets where they tried to manoeuvre the pup out of the birth canal but its shoulders were stuck. They scanned her and said they could only detect 3, one was dead, one was almost dead and the one in the birth canal likely won’t make it 🥺
By the time she went for a c section she was in a really bad way, they were warning me that we might even lose trix in the process. Watching them drag her away from me was one of the hardest things I’ve been through. My heart shattered, I felt so guilty, like I put her in that situation.
Thankfully the surgery went well, and Trixie was alive and well 🥹 they found 5 pups, two still had a heartbeat but they were faint and weak and sadly didn’t make it 🥺
Trixie was so so broody, and so ready, she would have been the best mama. She is still nesting and she has 3 specific toys that she puts to bed and carries around crying ❤️🩹
I wish with all my heart that she had just one pup to mother 😭
But this situation could have been so much worse, I could have lost her as well. Im so grateful that she’s home and well and safe. Shes made a full recovery now ❤️🩹
