Why your dog pulls ? 🐕⚡️

Lead pulling is one of the most common struggles dog owners face, but the solution often isn't what people think.

When your dog pulls and you continue walking in the direction they want to go, they're learning something important:

Dogs do what works for them. If pulling gets them closer to the smell, the squirrel, the other dog, or simply where they want to be, they'll keep repeating it.
Instead of following the tension on the lead, try changing the conversation.

🐾Stop following the pull
🐾Redirect their attention back to you
🐾Change direction if needed
🐾Reward them when they choose to reconnect

The goal isn't to force your dog into a perfect heel. It's to teach them that staying connected to you is more rewarding than dragging you towards whatever caught their attention.

Remember, loose lead walking isn't really about the lead.

It's about engagement, communication and teaching your dog that you're worth paying attention to.

Another training technique we’ve tried with Milo. Unfortunately, not every training method works for every dog—it’s all about finding the approach that best suits your dog’s personality and learning style.

As Milo hasn’t had any previous training, everything is completely new to him. We’ve found that he responds much better to verbal praise and vocal commands than to treats, so this is something we’ll continue to focus on moving forward.

Training takes time, patience, and consistency, but every small step is progress, and we’re already seeing positive improvements.🐶
