📸 Stop scrolling… this gorgeous girl is Misty 💖🐾

She was in with us for her spay and was an absolute star ⭐

Spaying might feel like a big decision, but it’s one of the kindest things you can do for your cat’s health and wellbeing:

🐱 Helps prevent unwanted litters
💗 Reduces the risk of certain cancers (especially when done early)
🩺 Prevents serious infections like pyometra
🏡 Can help keep your cat more settled at home (less roaming & fighting)

We’ll be looking after Misty every step of the way here at our independent practice in Burgess Hill, West Sussex 💙

The weather is continuing to be very hot over the next couple of days. Please remember no dog needs to go out every day - but they will still do it for their owners. 😔

🐾💙 Vet Nurse Awareness Month 💙🐾

This image captures just some of the many roles our Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) carry out every day at Heath Vets.

Our RVNs are involved in all aspects of patient care, including:
🩺 Supporting consultations and running nurse clinics
💉 Blood sampling, IV catheter placement and medication administration (as prescribed)
🫁 Assisting with and closely monitoring anaesthesia
🏥 Inpatient care, recovery monitoring and pain scoring
🧪 In‑house laboratory work and sample preparation
🩹 Wound care, bandaging and post‑operative checks
📚 Providing clear, practical advice to support owners at home

Their role is varied, highly skilled and central to the care your pet receives at every visit.

🌟 Meet the Team: Claire 🌟

As part of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re delighted to introduce Claire, our incredible Trainee Registered Veterinary Nurse, now in her second year of training.

Alongside her studies at Plumpton College on day release, Claire spends her time in practice gaining hands on experience, building her nursing skills and supporting the team every day as she works towards qualification.

Claire is always on the go and always ready to help. She has a great knack for spotting what needs doing next and plays a big part in helping the practice run faster and smoother for both the team and our patients.

💙 We are so proud of Claire’s progress and love having her as part of our nursing team during Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month and beyond.
