Today we opened our farm gates to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Open Farm Sunday, and what a special day it was! β¨π
This event would not have been possible without our incredible team of volunteers from our local farming community, a community we are incredibly proud to be part of. Our aim was to celebrate British farming while helping visitors understand the hard work, care and dedication that goes into producing the food we all enjoy every day π¬π§β₯οΈ
We have been absolutely blown away by the number of people who came to visit us. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success.
The farm was alive with a wonderful buzz of excitement as visitors explored everything we had to offer. From meeting our beekeeper, Keith, who cares for our precious bees and produces the delicious honey sold in our farm shop, to watching the sheep shearers and sheepdog demonstrations showcasing the skill and care involved in looking after these wonderful animals.
We were also delighted to be joined by our local friendβs magnificent Shire horses, who gave visitors an insight into what life on the farm was like before tractors. What incredible animals they are!
It really was a fantastic day filled with learning, laughter and a shared appreciation for British agriculture. And of course, it was wonderful to see the fields full of happy strawberry pickers enjoying the sunshine and the fruits of the season! π
Thank you again to everyone who visited, volunteered, demonstrated, supported and celebrated with us. Hereβs to another 20 years of Open Farm Sunday! π
Thank you to Angela Leeding Photography who captured the day so perfectly!
