We always enjoy it when people stop in to the office to say hello but we had some slightly unusual visitors this morning!

How lucky we are to be based in such a lovely spot at Manor Farm, Bourton, with the residents happy to keep us entertained on a daily basis!

Delighted to see this wonderful combination as the cover stars for the Sport Horse Breeding (GB) National Championship Show 2026, having been crowned Champion Ridden Thoroughbred.

Here at EVR we are particularly fond of the Thoroughbred-the gorgeous Second Time Around is definitely one of our favourites!

Mark/Score Sheets from the National Hunter Show now available on the SHB website.

It was lovely to see so many of our clients at The National Hunter Show at Addington Equestrian this week. We love to see horses under our care in action, doing what they love and excelling at it.

Plenty of rosettes all round-and even a couple of Champion sashes!

We even managed to squeeze in a quick class for Team EVR, with young ex-racehorse Jina finishing a very pleasing 3rd the Novice RoR Class, moving up several places after the ride judge phase. Thank you Kerry for being top show groom-not necessarily in your job description of Practice Manger!

We love this c**t! He just keeps getting better and better the more he grows and matures. A credit to the fantastic team behind him! 🏇🏆🤞

A tiny heartbeat with a big impact…

Our new ultrasound scanner’s colour doppler lets us visualise blood flow through the developing foal’s heart, giving us even more confidence when assessing early pregnancies.

We’re already loving the image quality and the difference this technology is making, a huge thanks to for helping us make this fantastic purchase and providing the latest technologies.

A rewarding visit to New Barn Stud this morning!

Three mares on livery, three different stallions, and three positive pregnancy scans—a lovely way to start the day.

One of the mares has been particularly memorable. She has certainly tested our resourcefulness throughout her breeding journey and hasn’t always made things straightforward, but we do enjoy a challenge! Seeing such a clear positive scan was especially satisfying, and we’re absolutely delighted for her lovely owner after all the patience, perseverance and a little bit of magic.

Congratulations to all the owners! We look forward to following these pregnancies over the coming months and, hopefully, seeing these mares return to New Barn Stud to foal during the 2027 season.

What a fantastic result. Very proud of Vera, who we have known since the day she was conceived!

God Bless Vera! The youngest horse (the only 7 yo) in the young psg at Hartpury in a field of 8-9 year olds. Great opportunity to get her before a team of International judges too. She was fabulous and loved every minute of it. We were beyond thrilled with 5th (despite a green mistake in the threes). Looking forward to going forward to the Gala final on Saturday night! Just awesome mare! 😍😍😍. Super job by Jayne too - she has done everything with Vera - they are such a great team

This week we had the opportunity to trial some new ultrasound scanners with the fantastic team at

At EVR, we’re committed to investing in the latest technology to ensure we’re providing the highest standard of veterinary care, particularly during the busy breeding season. Having the right equipment makes all the difference when it comes to reproductive examinations and pregnancy scanning.

A huge thank you to .barn.stud for giving us the opportunity to put the scanners through their paces in a real breeding environment and helping us decide which machine will best suit our needs.

And, of course, thank you to Celtic SMR Veterinary for traveling down to us and offering all your advice and support.

We’re looking forward to putting our new kit to work and continuing to offer the best possible service to our clients. Please message for any enquiries!
