Windmill Veterinary Centre, Winslow and Buckingham We are an RCVS Accredited Tier 2 veterinary practice based in Winslow and Buckingham, committed sole Consultations at Winslow and at our Buckingham branch.

Dogs, cats, rabbits and all other 'small furries', birds of all descriptions, especially Garden Hens, and reptiles are all welcome. Most of our vets have specific clinical interests, so we can usually find a vet to suit you and your pet!

Sadly we have a deceased tabby male cat that has been bought in to us. He is not microchipped, nor is he wearing a collar. He was found by the Shipton turning. Please contact the practice should you know him, so we are able to make the appropriate arrangements. Thank you

Do you know me? I’ve been in the bushes at The Bell Hotel, Winslow since Saturday night. A kind gentleman has left food and water for me and will try and get me to the vets to see if I have a microchip. Please pop down if you know me. Thank you

We are so sad to have said “goodbye and good luck” to Matt who left us last Friday to follow his love of surgery. Its been so busy we had no chance to take leaving photos, but no one likes goodbyes 😢. Matt was always super helpful and full of knowledge and we will all miss him. Good luck Matt and keep in touch 🍀🐾

❗ With temperatures soaring this week and hot weather warnings in place across Buckinghamshire, we strongly recommend you take extreme caution with your pets. We recommend you do not take your dog out for walks during the day, and even show extreme caution if walking at dawn or late in the evening as it is still very humid and hot ❗

Signs of heatstroke ☀️
☀️ Panting
☀️ Brick Red gums
☀️ Excessive salvation
☀️ Restlessness
☀️Disorientation
☀️ Collapse
☀️ Seizures

There is lots of conflicting information around about how to treat heatstroke, but recent studies by the RVC show that the most effective way of stopping heatstroke becoming fatal is to Wet then Vet ☀️

They recomend:
💧 Drenching your dog in cold water
⛱️ Getting your dog near a fan or in the shade
📞Contact your nearest vet
🚗 Cool the car down before putting your dog inside

Meet Toby 💙

Vet Sophie's very handsome cat, Toby, came in yesterday for a dental procedure.

He was a superstar patient all day, and loved his lick-e-lix after his procedure, as you can see by it all over his chin! ❤️

Sophie is the newest addition to our great vet team, please join us in welcoming her to the practice ⭐️
