Our Fun Gundog Courses are designed to channel your dog's natural instincts into enjoyable training games that improve focus, control, confidence, and teamwork.

Whether you're completely new to gundog training and just want to try something new, or ready to take your skills to the next level, we have a course for you:

🎾 Introduction to Fun Gundog – perfect for beginners wanting to learn something new in a relaxed, supportive environment.

🎯 Advanced Fun Gundog – for dogs and handlers who already have some gundog experience and are ready for more challenging retrieves, hunting games, and distance control.

These classes are all about having fun with your dog while building practical skills you can use every day.

Millie, now 4 years old, recently entered a local dog show in the Party Trick category and absolutely smashed it with her junior gundog skills! In a busy arena surrounded by a noisy crowd and lots of other dogs, she stayed completely focused while Nigel performed a full 360 around her before releasing her to fetch and return the ball perfectly. 👏🐶

Not only did Millie win her category, but she then went on to compete in the Best in Show final — placing an incredible 2nd out of nearly 30 dogs! 🥈✨

What a fantastic achievement and a true credit to all the hard work and training that Nigel has put in. 💙

Well done Team Millie! 🐾🎉

New dates for my next Recall and Loose Lead Courses.

Recall Course:
First course will start Thursday 4th June at 6PM.
Second course will start on Sunday 31st May at 1:30PM.

Loose Lead Course:
Course will start on Thursday 4th June at 7PM.

All courses will run for 3 weeks (£90 in total)

So whether you prefer training in the evening or on the weekend, there is something for you.

Hi everyone 👋

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to any new followers here.

I’m Kimberly, the face behind Kimberly Cox Dog Training 🐾

I’m a practical, empathetic and professional dog trainer, passionate about helping owners truly understand their dogs. My approach is all about working with you (at your level) to create realistic, positive training solutions that fit into everyday life. No one-size-fits-all methods here… every dog (and owner!) is unique and I pride myself on offering a personal, hands-on service that reflects that.

My journey with dogs started young, inspired by my Dad, and by the age of 9 I had my own lively Jack Russell, Pru. That passion only grew stronger, leading me to complete a degree in Animal Welfare and Management, followed by advanced qualifications in companion animal behaviour and training.

One of the most defining parts of my career was spending 10 incredible years with Medical Detection Dogs as Head of Dog Training and Animal Behaviour. Watching dogs develop from puppies into life-changing assistance dogs was truly inspiring and it deepened my appreciation for just how powerful the human–dog bond can be.

I founded Kimberly Cox Dog Training over 21 years ago, and since then I’ve dedicated my life to helping dogs and their owners build strong, trusting relationships.

At home, life is just as busy and rewarding! I live on a working farm with my partner, 11 wonderful dogs and I’m now the proud owner of 3 beautiful horses. From puppies to working collies and rescue dogs, living with such a diverse group has given me a deep understanding of different temperaments and training needs.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned along the way, it’s that you never stop learning - every single dog teaches me something new.

So I am back in full swing now lambing is over. Feeling fresh and very excited to get teaching the new spring and summer series of short courses and workshops. In the best real life locations, where you all know I love to train those important lifeskills and this is what makes KCDTS unique.

So now the weather is dryer and evening are lighter there are going to be lots of evening, daytime and Sunday workshops to be enjoyed and something for everyone.

It’s my favourite time of year… lambing season! 🐑

While I absolutely love my job and working with all of your dogs, this time of year is a really important part of my life (as many of you already know!).

I’ll be spending a lot of time in the lambing shed over the coming weeks, so responses to messages may be a little slower than usual. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.
