Some worrying news from the vets today. 😭 amputation of Deano’s back leg has been highly recommended 😳 the lab has still not contacted the vets back to discuss the results. I really did not expect this. I thought we had a lot more options.
But it was confirmed to me today, Deano has grade 2 sarcoma (cancer of the skin) and unless the lump is removed it will spread. However the location of the lump means it can not be removed, due to blood flow etc, so amputation would be the only option. I am gutted.
There may still be some hope when the vet speaks with the lab, to determine the types of cells found in the biopsy. Also we need to find out if the cancer has already spread so he would need to be referred to oncology at the specialist vets for a full body scan.
This has floored me! 😩
