Had a lovely week off with Vin. This was totally VIN’s holiday where we all got a good rest and enjoyed the sun and our surroundings. Had some visitors and managed to watch the eclipse.
Back to work and we welcomed in today Bruce and Tess. X

☀️ Extreme Heat Warning – Keep Your Pets Safe 🐾☀️

With this heatwave, we kindly advise keeping walks to a minimum. Puzzle feeders and stimulation toys are a lovely way to keep your pet entertained without the exertion of a walk 🐾
No walk is worth the risk on hot days, even shaded areas can be too hot. ☀️ keeping your dog cool at home really could save their life.

⚠️ Please watch for signs of heatstroke, including:
- Excessive panting or drooling
- Lethargy or restlessness
- Vomiting or collapse

If you’re concerned your pet may be overheating, move them somewhere cool and contact the Market Weighton Hospital on 01430 873219 as soon as possible.

Heatstroke can develop quickly and needs urgent attention.

Heartbreaking update 🌈 Freddie has sadly been found deceased. Our thoughts are with Freddie’s owners at the sad time.

Freddie escaped boarding kennels at 3am this morning. Owners are on holiday in Turkey for 2 weeks.

Any sightings or if found please call us on 07738221519 with location and time seen.

A round up of June and July so far. June started with a lovely holiday for me and Dave; then back to work with our lovely lot of four legged friends. Lots of boarding with a mix of day care and a lot of heat to manage for us all. Mixed in this was my nephew’s prom and a day out with my god-daughter Evie. 🐾🐶🦴

Hope this is helpful for us dog lovers in this heat.

It’s looking like it’s going to be a scorching bank holiday weekend, so it’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with what temperatures are safe for your dog☀️🐶
Every year our vets treat hundreds of heat stroke cases and, heartbreakingly, some end in tragedy. Many are unfortunately a result of owners not knowing the dangers of exercising their dogs in temperatures to hot for them to handle.
Heat-related illnesses are almost always preventable. DONT TAKE THE RISK and make sure your pet isn’t overheating in the sun.
Temperatures over 24 degrees will be uncomfortable for most of our dogs, so make sure you are walking them at the coolest times of the day or simply keep them at home and give them some mental stimulation and enrichment things to do instead.
If you think your dog may be suffering from heat stroke, contact your vet immediately! If out-of-hours, find your nearest emergency vet.
⚠️ Remember, Get them Wet, then get them to the Vet! ⚠️

Wishing Vinnie the happiest of birthdays; 14 years old today and whilst he has his health issues he’s living his best life. He was born just after midnight whilst the rest of the litter where the 25th April. 🎂🐾🦴🐶
