We’ve lost everything 😭

I’ve received my new phone today and I’ve transferred as much as possible over, but sadly I’ve lost:

• All photographs/videos taken after 15/07 (which is a bloody LOT)
• ALL of my WhatsApp chats, which is crap because it means I can’t follow up with old clients/new enquiries
• Access to some of our software

So if you’ve seen this and you’re waiting for a message from me, I physically can’t see our conversations, so please message me again.

Because I’ve now lost so many previous enquiries, I’m offering a discount to the next 10 people who sign up to regular services, standard walks, structured walks, daycare or training programmes.

If you were in the middle of chatting to us about anything, please just drop us another message.

I Accidentally dropped my phone into a bath of hot water! 🫣

So for the moment, we’re without a work phone. I’m using my personal phone with the work SIM inside, but unfortunately the camera is broken, so any photos and videos I take are currently awful quality!

I’m also struggling to restore most of the previous conversations, photographs and videos that were stored on the work phone.

If you’ve messaged me on WhatsApp and I haven’t responded, please don’t think I’m ignoring you. I simply can’t see our previous messages at the moment!

For now, please feel free to message me through Facebook or Instagram whilst I get everything sorted.

Hopefully I’ll be back to normal very soon! 🤞🏼

Last week I popped in to see my old friend Winston.

Win is a rescue who has well and truly landed on his feet. He’s one of my closest friend’s dogs and my god, I don’t think he has any idea just how loved he is.

Fun fact…Winston’s mum, Rach, actually wanted to surprise my friend Meg with him… so I met him before Meg even did 😂

He’s been around for a little while now, but every time I see him I’m reminded of what an absolute little pocket rocket he is. This was him completely splatted on the floor after about 30 seconds of us playing outside 😂

Don’t be fooled by the cute face though.I may or may not have been teaching him a few little protection tricks while I was there.

Protection Frenchie pending 👀😂

He will be back out with us again this week, joining us on some group walks and it’s safe to say, I CANNOT WAITTT

Sorry we’ve been a little slow with replies lately.

Something new is coming to NZ and we’ve been incredibly busy sorting mounds of paperwork and getting everything ready, whilst sorting all the doggies in between.

I’m looking to get back to everyone this afternoon, so if you’ve not heard from me then ping me another message.

I really appreciate all your patience🐾

PS enjoy this photo of Scout and Steve who did incredibly on their walk together

PPS Can’t wait to share about the new service (soon, I hope!)

Don’t ever assume your dog won’t be able to do a pack walk.

Sometimes things take time, and sometimes they don’t look perfect straight away. But dogs are often capable of so much more than we give them credit for.

Buddy, the collie on the left, used to be incredibly dog reactive, with real intent behind his reactions. His owners were stuck in a pretty crappy place with him, but they wanted better for him and were willing to put the work in.

After a lot of training, he’s now in a completely different position. His overreactions around dogs are massively reduced, he understands what’s expected of him, and his world has opened up so much because of it.

Scout, the collie on the right, I haven’t been working with for long and, to be honest, he seems like a really well balanced boy. He is still an intact male though, and I’ve noticed he can struggle slightly when other intact males come in with a bit of “big dick energy” 😂

These two had a minor grumble at each other when they first met, so rather than taking any chances, we muzzled them both and carried on with the walk.

And this is how the rest of it looked.

I’m pretty certain Buddy’s owners would never have believed he’d get to this stage when we first started.

There’s still work to do with Bud, but he’s doing amazingly and I’m incredibly proud of how far he’s come.

So much is possible when you’re willing to commit, put the time in and actually give your dog the opportunity to progress

Appreciation post for my wonderful partner 🤍

I don’t say this to him enough, but one of the reasons I’m able to get out and help other people with their dogs every day is because of this man.

I’d worked with dogs for years before me and Elliott were together, but I was never in a position where I felt able to fully commit to following my dreams until recently.

We signed our mortgage in May and, despite that he still pushed me to quit my job and take the leap into doing the thing I love full time.

At the moment I don’t have enough clients to reliably earn what I did before, and being self-employed can be petrifying when you don’t know what you’ll be taking home each month, but I’ve genuinely never felt safer or more supported.

He backs me every single day, does the absolute best for me and the dogs, and is somehow always coming up with another way for us to make dogs our entire living whether that’s a pet shop, protection sports, grooming or whatever idea comes next 😂

He’s genuinely the hardest worker I’ve ever met, and I really couldn’t thank him enough for the life he’s helping me build🤍

Saturday morning in the NZ house🐾

Each of the dogs had a go at box feeding this morning, whilst the others worked on their ‘place’ and watched.

Box feeding is essentially a concentration exercise. The dog learns to keep their head committed to the box while food is delivered inside, regardless of what’s happening around them.

Once they understand the game, you can gradually introduce different distractions such as noises, movement, touch, handling etc while the dog stays focused on the task.

It can be a really useful exercise for:

* Building confidence and mental resilience
* Helping dogs work through environmental pressure/distractions
* Desensitisation to noises
* Introducing handling in a much more positive way, which can be useful for things like vet visits, grooming, checking ears/paws etc
* Increasing food drive and teaching the dog to stay committed to a task

The important bit isn’t just sticking their head in a box for food, it’s teaching them that even when something changes or feels a little unusual, they can stay engaged, work through it and continue the behaviour.

The dogs waiting on ‘place’ are still working too. They’re practising impulse control, learning to switch off while another dog is getting rewarded and getting used to watching other dogs work without feeling like they need to be involved in everything

Have you tried box feeding? If your dog struggles with handing or noise sensitivities then reach out.

Ruby, who is actually 6 months old today, had her first daycare day with us! 🤍 Ruby was a slightly last minute addition to the diary this week, but she’s fitted in beautifully.

I like to spend as much of daycare outdoors as possible, but the weather has definitely been letting us down recently.

When Ruby joined us, we headed out for a nice walk together as a pack so she could settle in, get used to everyone and start the day without too much pressure.

She’s also spent plenty of time going in and out of the crate throughout the day. She’s still only a baby, so giving her the opportunity to properly switch off and rest without distractions is really important.

Although, outside of the crate she’s mostly been resting too 😂

She’s an absolute beauty, and I think it’s safe to say the rest of the pack agree too. We’ll be seeing Ruby regularly from now on, so I’m sure it won’t be long before she’s completely taken over my feed 🤍
