🐾 THE BOYS HAVE BEEN ON AN ADVENTURE! 🐾😂

Today we took Lennie & Rudy for their first visit to Bromsgrove Field Hire… and judging by the state of them afterwards, I’d say they rather enjoyed themselves! 🤣

Lennie was straight into “RIGHT… WHAT CAN I FIND?!” mode. 👀🐶
Sniffing EVERYTHING. Investigating EVERYTHING. Obviously convinced there was a squirrel-related conspiracy going on somewhere. 😂

And Rudy… well Rudy was just Rudy. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
Running, bouncing, exploring and generally looking like he’d forgotten he had legs and needed to use them sensibly!

It was SO lovely seeing them have the freedom to run around, sniff, explore and burn off some of that Labradoodle energy in a secure field. ❤️

And yes… they came home absolutely shattered.

For approximately 7 minutes.

Then one of them found a toy. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

First visit definitely gets the Lennie & Rudy seal of approval 🐾❤️

I think we’ll be back… although I’m not entirely sure whether I took them there for exercise or whether they took ME there for entertainment! 😂

A brilliant afternoon with my two crazy boys. 🥰🐶🐶

* * Sand Pits & Soil Top Up * *

Sand pits in the Half Past Field and Meadow have been topped up with fresh sand ready for enthusiastic 'diggers' !

Only high-quality premium play sand is purchased. It is a naturally formed product that has been specifically designed for play pit areas in schools and nurseries and has been tested to BS EN 1177 standard. Prior to being sold, it has been put through several cycles of pressure-washing to remove any residue, dangerous materials or Iron Oxide - making it safe for children and pets.

We are grateful to everyone who helps fill in holes - more soil has been added to the yellow bins.

* * New Agility Jump Poles * *

The chewed / damaged jump poles in the Meadow have been replaced with new ones.

New lids have also been added to the scent pots in The Long Run.

Thanks to Gaynor for sending in this great picture of her rescue dog. Nova was rescued by the RSPCA from streets in Essex and is working on her recall. She is one of several new BFH visitors this month.

* * Water Splashes, Visitors Digital Wall & Soil Bin * *

It's great to see so many dogs enjoying off lead time and having fun in the fields. A dedicated website 'Wall of Fame' page has now been set up and visitors are welcome to fill in the online form at https://www.bromsgrovefieldhire.co.uk/?page_id=13151 if they would like their pet to be included.

Today, the water splashes have had a refill and a yellow bin full of soil has been added to The Meadow for visitors who would like to collect extra Field Care Points.

Don't forget that Free Credits are emailed out approximately 4 times a year as a thank you to Members who help look after the fields and who reach the (easily attainable) level in any given period. It doesn't matter whether it's filling in a hole, picking up a 'missed' pooh, pulling out a w**d or anything else - all help is gratefully appreciated and recorded.

New professionally made dog jump poles from Adam's Agility have been purchased for the Half Past Field and the Tetherball in The Long Run has been mended and strengthened.

More upgrades to follow shortly.

Don't forget that it's now possible to book back to back (double) slots on a weekday if you fancy a longer catch up with a friend whilst your dog(s) plays or perhaps because your journey time has increased due to the local roadworks.

It was great to read all the responses from our recent survey to over 350 local dog field users. Thank you to everyone who completed the questionnaire. Suggestions are being worked through and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible.

However, a recurring feedback topic was about rates—specifically, why some facilities, like BFH, cost a bit more than other options out there. So as this it is an important (and valid) observation, it is hoped that by documenting why Bromsgrove Field Hire was started in the first place, some reassurance might be offered.

If you’ve visited Bromsgrove Field Hire, you already know we love dogs. But you might not know the deeply personal reason why BFH is so important to us.

In yesteryear, a much-loved family dog was attacked and killed by another person’s dog. Although time has been a great healer, emotional scars remain that still have an impact such as feeling anxious on public paths if a loose dog is spotted.

The nights are drawing in and whilst thankfully it is a bit cooler now for four-legged visitors, the start of Autumn rain has prompted the vegetation to spring back to life.

Having well-kept mowed paths remains a priority and the mower has been out after hours, giving the grass a trim.

Four new agility jumps have also been added to The Long Run for added interest. Please stop your dog(s) from chewing the pole ends, if they like the look of them.
