THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who has helped keep the fields in the best shape possible.

Whether filling holes, picking up 'missed' pooh, pulling thistles or tidying up broken bits of balls - all efforts are really appreciated.

Free credit 'awards' are given out approximately 4 - 5 times a year to visitors who accumulate a (easily achievable) certain number of Field Care Points.

Whilst we are grateful to ALL participants and would reward everyone if we could, special mention this time period goes to 14 people in particular, who will all be contacted individually and 'win' a free credit(s).

* * Greyhound Charity Fundraising Event * *

As dog lovers, Bromsgrove Field Hire is delighted to be able to support Home Run Hounds Greyhound Charity No 1209071 by sharing details of their forthcoming Dog Show to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

All breeds are welcome at the show and there are Fun Classes as well as an AV Pedigree ring.

The show is well established and a very enjoyable day out for all the family. There are stalls, an agility area, refreshments and lots of rosettes to win (and trophies).

Join in the fun at Himley Hall on the 20th September and help ex-racing Greyhounds.

Just a quick reminder that the summer hunt games are running throughout the rest of July and August in the Half Past Field and Long Run, with £1 of every entry, going to the Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre in Bromsgrove.

It's really easy to enter and all correct entries are put into a draw in early September, with prize bundles of free credits (visits) awarded for 1st - 5th out of the 'hat'.

There's a high probability of winning and it's a great opportunity to help support such a worthwhile local charity at the same time.

Following feedback that dogs in The Long Run enjoy dribbling / herding large balls, additional ones have also been added to The Meadow.

The balls can be collected from the Field Shelter and played with on the walk. Please return them afterwards though, for the next person to use if they would like to.

As well as new balls, field signage has been upgraded to help support visitors and be in keeping with countryside colours.

Thank you to everyone who supports Bromsgrove Field Hire charities.

Whether it's through purchasing items from 'honesty shops', hunting for stones in field games or backing a duck in the annual charity duck race . . . it all helps really worthwhile local causes and is greatly appreciated.

Yesterday's article in the Bromsgrove Advertiser (who were contacted directly by The Basement Project in Bromsgrove) was a lovely surprise - made possible by the generosity of Bromsgrove Field Hire Members and who should therefore share in this recognition.

Thanks to everyone who provides feedback so that as many dogs (and their owners) are catered for as far as possible.

Dog bowl cleaning brushes have now been added to the water 'stations'.

Please don't let dogs chew or play with them (or rip them off) and place the brush back out of reach when it is finished with. They are intended for human use only and won't last long otherwise !

School is near finishing for the summer and to coincide with the holidays (as young people might like to help with the search), two new hunts are now running in the Long Run and Half Past Field.

This year, fund raising is for Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre in Bromsgrove. The charity does so much to assist patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Prizes (free visits) have also been extended to 5th place in the draw to give more people a chance of winning. *

So happy hunting and thank you for helping support such a worthwhile charity like The Primrose Hospice.

* * Supporting The Primrose Hospice * *

After 7 years working with The Basement Project and donating over £2000 and many Food Bank items, fund-raising is now being undertaken for The Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove.

Only 14.6% of the hospice’s funding comes from the NHS and every year, it costs the hospice £1.95 million to provide their amazing services free of charge to those who need it.

As an independent local charity that must rely heavily on community support, we’re delighted to be able to help in any way possible. The hospice does so much for people of all ages with life-limiting conditions on North-East Worcestershire.

So thank you to every Bromsgrove Field Hire visitor who purchases items from Rose’s ‘honesty shops’, takes part in fund-raising field games or donates directly – it is really appreciated.

All donations are gratefully received and regular visits to the Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre are scheduled.

It's grass growing season and after a sluggish start, The Long Run Field is now covered with a luscious amount of greenery.

However it has been noticed that the longer grass has removed an area for dogs who prefer shorter vegetation to chase balls, catch frisbees or run in large circles.

So starting with the field topping machinery, steps are being taken to remedy this in order to recreate some open space where dogs can run and get up to speed.

Don't forget that feedback is always welcome. If there is anything else in particular that you'd like to see in the fields, just get in touch.

Bromsgrove Field Hire has received a request from a local dog rescue charity in Solihull, to display their poster.

They are a foster based organisation and all their fosterers are local to the West Midlands so that they can be supplied with dog food and equipment whilst they continue to look for new homes for the dogs.

Many are described as very friendly with other dogs, but some can be frightened and need a one to one or another dog to gain confidence.

There are application forms on their website (in the foster section) and information sheets that can be sent out. In addition, there is a foster co-ordinator and a whats app group for full support
