Blue Cross Bromsgrove rehoming centre

Blue Cross Bromsgrove rehoming centre The Bromsgrove centre opened in 1986 and is now one of our largest centres. Located in Catshill, Bromsgrove, it serves a wide base of the local community.

The site operates from a former commercial boarding kennels, but has been completely rebuilt over the years. The original purchase of the site was largely due to a generous bequest from a local benefactor who recognised the need for an animal welfare presence in the area. Our primary function is the intake and rehoming of both cats and dogs into new, loving homes. The kennel block has 25 dog kenne

ls, and 25 cat units as well as an isolation unit for cats. The cattery was fully refurbished in March 2013. We also rehome cats and dogs through the Home Direct Rehoming Service which has now been rolled out across the organisation. This service means we can help more people rehome their pets without the need for their animals to come into a rescue environment. We have a large team of dedicated volunteers and foster carers. The Centre has 18 staff employed by Blue Cross, which consists of Centre Manager, a Re Homing Supervisor and Veterinary Supervisor, 3 Receptionist, a Volunteer Co-ordinator and a team of animal welfare assistants. Address: Wildmoor Lane, Catshill, Bromsgrove, Worcs B61 0RJ

๐Ÿพ Rehoming Update โ€“ This Weekโ€™s Happy Tails! ๐Ÿพ
Weโ€™re so excited to share some wonderful news! ๐Ÿ’› This week, several of our lovely animals have found their forever homes.

โ€ข Kiki & Gypsy
โ€ข Chops

Each one has started a new chapter and we couldnโ€™t be happier for them! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ

We've also had a lovely update from Dottie - "We rehomed just over a week ago now. Just to let you know how well she is settling in, and how much of a sweet girl she is. We love her so much already, sheโ€™s being so brave exploring around the house and really coming out of her shell. Her personality is shining through already, and we couldnโ€™t be happier with her. "

A huge thank you to everyone who supports us, whether by adopting, fostering, donating, or sharing our posts. Youโ€™re helping make these happy endings possible every single week.
If youโ€™re thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, we still have many animals waiting for their forever homes. ๐Ÿ’•

Poor Sauron must have been terrified when he was thrown out of a moving car. ๐Ÿ’”

Luckily, he had no injuries, so a kind local community stepped in to feed him after the cruel incident, helping him slowly regain his strength.

But heartbreak struck again when Sauron was hit by a car, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

When he arrived in our care, he was fighting for his life. He had a ruptured eye, a potentially fatal hernia, a collapsed lung, and a broken jaw.

Our veterinary teams worked tirelessly to save him. He underwent emergency treatment, had a chest drain fitted, surgery to remove the eye that couldn't be saved, his jaw was wired, and he was fed through a feeding tube while he recovered.

Through it all, Sauron never gave up, and after weeks of expert care and love from one of our incredible volunteer foster carers, he slowly began to heal.

We're happy to say that after 81 days of unbelievable strength and courage, he was finally adopted.

After 92 days in our care, Graham finally heard the words every rescue pet deserves to hear: "You've been adopted!"

His reaction? You'll want the sound on for this one. โค๏ธ

Why should some people have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets? ๐Ÿ’”

In partnership with Pets at Home, our pet food bank network has helped feed over 4.5 million pets to date - and you could help us reach even more. This summer, Pets Foundation summer appeal returns to Pets at Home stories, and we're asking anyone able to take part to help support pets all across the country. ๐Ÿพ

Every cat is different - and that's exactly why we take the time to get to know them. ๐Ÿ’™

When Pixie arrived in our care, we quickly realised this sweet, shy girl was incredibly fearful of vet visits, causing her to lash out, nip and bite when she felt scared.

With patience, understanding and the right support, our teams helped her feel more comfortable and gave her new family the advice they needed to help her thrive.

Our behaviour services team supports pets throughout their adoption journey because, no matter a cat's fears or needs, we believe there's a loving home out there for every cat.

Kenny and Barnaby are an inseparable little-and-large duo who have been best friends since they were puppies.

Despite their lovable personalities, they're struggling to find a home together.

Barnaby loves to play, while Kenny is happiest soaking up affection from humans. They are looking for a calm home where they can be the only dogs and can continue having adventures together.

Due to his size, Barnaby will need an owner who is physically able to handle him on walks and understands the needs of flat-faced breeds.

Could you give these lifelong best friends the home they've been waiting for? ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/4f9JL01

Dogs can develop heatstroke in minutes and can't cool down like we can.

A parked car can quickly become deadly โ€“ never leave your dog inside, even for a few minutes.

Older, flat-faced, overweight and larger dogs are at even greater risk.

Leave them at home. It could save their life.

While love means nothing in tennis, it's what Serena, Venus, and Martina are searching for. ๐Ÿ’™

These court favourites love to explore their hides and tunnels, play, and forage in their hay. They could be integrated into a herd, be joined by a neutered male, or stay as a trio. ๐ŸŽพ

Do you remember Moto, the tuxedo cat with the tongue that always sticks out? โค๏ธ

When we shared that he'd received the fewest adoption applications, you rallied behind him. Thanks to your likes, comments and shares, his story reached exactly the right person.

That person fell in love with Moto, and now he's happily settling into his new home.

Seeing updates like these reminds us just how powerful this community is. Every share helps another animal find the people they're meant to be with.

Thank you for helping make Moto's happy ending possible!

Graham has survived life on the streets. Now he's waiting for someone to love him. ๐Ÿ’”

When Graham arrived as a stray, the stress he'd endured had left him pulling out his fur, leaving bald patches across his coat.

But once he realised he was finally safe, the fur-plucking stopped, his confidence grew, and his coat slowly started to grow back.

Beneath it all, Graham is a loving boy with the loudest meow and has so much affection to give. ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/4gF1JbZ
