The Dot Peen Marking scheme involves using tungsten carbide-tipped pin to indent an items with dots to create a visible, permanent unique number. The unique will be entered into the National Immobilise property register database, vastly increasing the chances that the item will be re-united with its owner if it is lost or stolen.
Dot Peen is effective at marking most materials (apart from glass or ceramics), in the rural settings it is used for marking;
Garage
Garden tools,
Power tools,
Equestrian tack,
Plastic and wooden items,
Agricultural machinery, plant, trailers & quad bikes.
A visual deterrent of a permanently marked serial number alone could be enough to deter would-be thieves.
