Yesterday, our amazing RVN, 𝐊𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐲, successfully completed her climb of Snowdon in support of the incredible charity 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬𝟒𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬! ❤️🐕

From the practice to the summit, Kacey took on the challenge with the same dedication, compassion, and determination that she shows every day caring for your pets. 💪⛰️

This wasn’t just a walk up a mountain - every step was taken to raise money for dogs who need a second chance. Angels4Dogs works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome vulnerable dogs across Kent, and we’re so proud that Kacey chose to support such a fantastic cause. 🏡🐾

We know many of our clients have met Kacey over the years, and we’re sure you’ll agree that she has a huge heart when it comes to animals. ❤️

Tomorrow, our amazing RVN, 𝐊𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐲, will be swapping the veterinary practice for the mountains as she takes on the challenge of climbing Snowdon in support of the incredible charity 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬𝟒𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬. 🐕❤️

Many of you will know Kacey from caring for your pets here at Briar House, but tomorrow she’ll be putting that same dedication and determination into raising money for a cause that means so much to her.

Angels4Dogs works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome vulnerable dogs across Kent, giving countless animals a second chance at the happy life they deserve. 🏡🐾

Every step Kacey takes tomorrow will be for the dogs who rely on charities like Angels4Dogs and the amazing people who work so hard to help them. 💚

🐱🐱✨ 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘀… 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀! ✨🐱🐱

Meet Milo and Mikey - the adorable Domestic Short Hair brothers who recently came into us for their neutering procedures. 💙

These two were absolute gold-star patients from start to finish and completely won over the team with their sweet personalities and endless affection. 🥹✨

During their stay, Milo and Mikey enjoyed lots of cuddles, reassurance, and attention from our lovely RVNs Amy and Anisa, who made sure the boys felt safe, comfortable, and thoroughly spoiled throughout the day. 🐾💚

🌱🐱 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲’𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞! 🐱🌱

When handsome Harvey was brought in to see us, his owner had noticed he had been bringing up foamy bile and coughing. While these signs can sometimes be caused by minor irritation, they can also indicate that something is stuck where it shouldn’t be. 🩺

Following his consultation, Harvey was carefully examined under sedation by our vet, Adil. The culprit? A blade of grass lodged in his throat! 😲🌾

Cats can occasionally inhale or swallow blades of grass which then become trapped at the back of the throat, causing coughing, gagging, retching, discomfort, and sometimes vomiting. If left untreated, these foreign bodies can continue to cause irritation and distress.

Thankfully, Adil was able to successfully remove the grass, bringing immediate relief to poor Harvey. 💚

After his procedure, Harvey enjoyed a well-deserved recovery session full of cuddles and reassurance from our lovely VCA, Kirstie. As you can see from the photos, he was much happier once that troublesome blade of grass had been evicted! 🥰🐾

A huge well done to Harvey for being such a brave boy, and a reminder that if your cat is coughing, gagging, repeatedly swallowing, or bringing up foam, it’s always worth getting them checked by your vet. Sometimes the smallest things can cause the biggest problems. ❤️🐱

At Briar House, we’re lucky to work alongside some truly incredible animal lovers, and our wonderful RVN, Kacey, is no exception. 💚

Many of you will know Kacey from caring for your pets here at the practice, but she’s now swapping scrubs for walking boots as she takes on the challenge of climbing Snowdon to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts – 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬𝟒𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬. 🐕❤️

Angels4Dogs is an amazing rescue charity that works tirelessly across Kent, particularly in the Thanet area, helping vulnerable, abandoned, and neglected dogs find safety, care, and ultimately the loving homes they deserve.

We’ve seen first-hand the difference they make. Time and time again, they step in when dogs have nowhere else to turn, providing veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, foster support, and endless compassion to dogs who desperately need a second chance. 🏡🐾

Wanting to give something back to a charity that gives so much, Kacey has decided to challenge herself by climbing one of the UK’s most iconic mountains. Every step, every hill, and every aching leg will be for the dogs that Angels4Dogs helps every single day. 💪⛰️

🐾❤️ 𝐀 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐞 ❤️🐾

Handsome Reggie paid a visit to our 24-hour Vetcare team on Saturday after his owner noticed that one of his ears was persistently bleeding. 🩺

Ear injuries can sometimes bleed surprisingly heavily due to the large number of blood vessels within the ear flap, so it’s always worth getting them checked if the bleeding doesn’t stop or keeps recurring. 🩸

Our team carefully cleaned up Reggie’s ear, applied a protective bandage, and made sure he was comfortable before heading home. 💚

Of course, no Briar House visit would be complete without plenty of fuss and cuddles, and Reggie was more than happy to snuggle up with our lovely SVN, Libby, during his stay. 🥰🐶

We’re pleased to report that this brave boy took everything in his stride and was an absolute superstar patient from start to finish. ⭐

🍓🐢 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐲’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩! 🐢🍓

We think it’s safe to say that Timmy the African Sulcata Tortoise has become quite the celebrity here at Briar House! 😍

Timmy regularly visits our lovely vet, Cellina, for his health checks to help ensure he’s staying happy, healthy, and thriving. Regular health checks are incredibly important for tortoises, as they are experts at hiding signs of illness and can often appear normal even when something isn’t quite right. 🩺🐢

During his latest visit, Timmy enjoyed plenty of attention from RVNs Annabelle and Kacey, who were more than happy to provide a few extra cuddles and fusses. 💚

And if you watch the video, you’ll see Timmy enjoying what might just be his favourite part of the appointment… his strawberries! 🍓😋

African Sulcata Tortoises are the third-largest tortoise species in the world and can live for many decades with the correct care, making routine health checks an important part of keeping these incredible reptiles in the best possible condition throughout their long lives. 🌍✨

We absolutely love seeing Timmy’s cheerful little face when he visits us, and we have to admit, watching him enjoy his snacks might just be the highlight of our day! 🥹🐢
