We are urgently trying to locate the owners of a 13-year-old, neutered male cat who was recently found in Callis Court Road, Broadstairs, and brought into our care at Briar House Veterinary Surgery. ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ’š

This lovely gentleman is microchipped, however, unfortunately, the registered contact details are no longer up to date.

We understand that he has previously been rehomed, but his microchip details were never updated to reflect his new ownership. This means we have been unable to contact his current family directly. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Our veterinary team is currently providing him with the care and attention he needs, but it is incredibly important that we locate his owners as soon as possible. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Meet adorable Bean the Dachshund, who recently came into us after her mum noticed something wasnโ€™t quite right with her eye. ๐Ÿ‘๏ธโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Following a veterinary examination, Bean was diagnosed with a corneal ulcer - a painful injury to the clear surface of the eye that requires prompt treatment to prevent further complications.

Eye ulcers can develop for several reasons, including scratches, trauma or irritation, and can cause redness, squinting, excessive tearing and discomfort. Left untreated, they can become increasingly serious and potentially threaten vision.

Thankfully, Beanโ€™s owner spotted the problem and brought her in for veterinary attention. Our team started appropriate treatment to support healing and keep her comfortable. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’š

But there was one very important part of Beanโ€™s recovery planโ€ฆ

No rubbing or scratching that poorly eye! ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ

We are urgently appealing for the owner of this lovely male dog, who was brought into Briar House after being found running loose near Newington School, Ramsgate. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’š

Thankfully, a kind member of the public was able to get him to safety and bring him into our care.

The good news is that he is microchipped and his chip is registered! However, unfortunately, we are currently unable to retrieve his ownerโ€™s contact details directly from the microchip company.

We have requested the information, but have been advised that it could take up to 48 hours for the details to be released to us. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Rather than keeping this lovely boy waiting unnecessarily, weโ€™re hoping the power of our wonderful local community can help us reunite him with his family much sooner! โค๏ธ

Meet beautiful Lorenzo the Ragdoll, who recently came into us for his neutering procedure. ๐Ÿฑโœจ

Neutering is a routine surgical procedure, but that never means routine care. Every patient is individually assessed, carefully monitored under anaesthetic and supported throughout recovery by our veterinary and nursing teams to make sure they are safe, comfortable and receiving the highest standard of care. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

For male cats, neutering prevents unwanted litters and removes the risk of testicular disease, while it can also help reduce hormone-driven behaviours such as roaming, fighting and urine marking.

Lorenzo was an absolute star throughout his stay and, once his procedure was complete, there was one very important part of his recovery planโ€ฆ

Lovely Loki the Labrador recently came into us after one of his nails had split away from the nail bed, leaving it sore and in need of veterinary attention. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Damaged nails can be surprisingly painful and can easily catch, bleed or become infected, so in Lokiโ€™s case the affected nail needed to be carefully removed to keep him comfortable and allow the area to heal properly.

Loki was such a good boy throughout his visit - but of course, there was one very important tradition we absolutely had to keep upโ€ฆ

* No known medical conditions or infectious diseases.
* Ideally at least 4โ€“5 kg +.
* Between 1 and 8 years old.
* Up to date with vaccination.
* Up to date with flea and worm treatment.

The veterinary team will assess the donorโ€™s suitability and carry out the necessary blood tests before donation. Requirements may vary by clinic.

We are very sorry to share that a young kitten was brought into us sadly deceased this morning, after being found near Bayer Street, Manston. It is possible the kitten may have been involved in a road traffic accident.

Unfortunately, the kitten does not have a microchip, so at the moment we have no way of identifying or contacting their family. ๐Ÿ’”

Meet handsome Leo, who recently came into us for Achilles tendon repair surgery with our Head Vet, Enrico. ๐Ÿฑโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

The Achilles tendon is important for normal movement and stability of the hind limb, so when it becomes damaged, surgical repair may be needed to restore support and give the leg the best chance of functioning comfortably again.

Leoโ€™s case involved careful assessment and imaging before heading to theatre - and you can see his X-ray alongside some incredible behind-the-scenes surgical photos of Enrico in action. ๐Ÿฉบโœจ

Following surgery, Leoโ€™s leg needed to be carefully supported and protected while the repaired tendon begins to heal. And if youโ€™re going to wear a big bandage, you may as well make it stylishโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’•

His recovery dressing was finished with some very special love hearts, which we think suits him perfectly.

After such a big procedure, Leo was closely monitored by our nursing team and, of course, received plenty of reassurance and affection. Here he is pictured having some very well-earned cuddles with our Deputy Head Nurse, Megan. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’š

Orthopaedic recovery takes patience, careful aftercare, regular checks and strict protection of the surgical site - but Leo has already been an absolute superstar throughout.
