Green Tara Animal Sanctuary A safe home for animals in need or with special needs. We are currently looking to set up more spaces to rescue and provide a home for more animals in need.

🐱 Mano got the all clear from cancer!!! 🥳🥳🥳

A couple of weeks ago he had to have a suspicious lump removed from his mouth. Biopsy results finally came in and he got the all clear!

This means we can now move along with his full mouth extraction, which will hopefully help make him more confortable going forward with his mouth condition.

Thank you to everyone who came to our charity roast dinner fundraiser at Aster Broadstairs which raised an amazing £960, plus other very generous donations, which helped to help pay for his biopsy and will go towards his dental.

Thank you also to our vets, they have been very accomodating and caring towards Mano's continuous care and needs 🫶

He is one lucky boy to have so many people caring about him. 🥰🐱

Ian has had his weekly bath.

We believe he is at least 12 years old and has been living here for about 3 years now, we are his 3rd home as he out-lived his hens in previous homes. He now has a quiet batchelor pad. He is wobbly on his legs and going blind, but this doesnt seem to stop him enjoying life!!

I hand feed him grapes everyday and he gets a weekly bath as he no longer grooms himself. He loves hanging out in the garden and sunbathing.

He is such a placid and gentle being who is just embracing old age.

I feel so lucky to be part of his life.

💚 A HUGE thank you from Mano 🐱 and the gang at Green Tara Animal Sanctuary to all who came along to support our fundraiser yesterday. 💚

A massive £550 was raised for the animals! 🥳

Everyone is so lovely who comes to our charity sunday roast dinners at Aster Broadstairs asterbroadstairs - its a win-win situation. You get fed 😋 ... we raise money for animals! 💰💰💰

🐱 Mano Mano Mano!!! 🐱

Mano is still not responding well to medications😪. His condition (Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex) has been managed with steriods since I rescued him about 5 years ago. However, over time steriods have a bad impact on the immune system, and now a secondary health issue, Calici virus, is no longer managed well by his poor body. So each time he had a steriod injection this lowered his immunse system, resulting in a flair up of calici virus - and therefore swelling of his gums!
He has since been moved onto a smaller dose of daily steriods - but he cannot have pain meds due to the steriods .. so he is on antibiotics that happen to also be anti-inflammatory to assist with any swelling!

Anyhow, if youve got this far 😅 ... the next suggestion to keep him more comfortable is for him to have a full mouth extraction. So ALL his teeth out. This will hopefully help reduce infections and inflammation, and also cause less issues/pressure in his mouth when he does get swellling. This will involve 2 procedures .. costing a estimated amount of around £1300!

So, I have set up a fundraising page (see in the comments) just for this special little man .. because he is 100% worth trying everything to keep him more comfortable.

I will also be doing some fundraisers where I can and working hard over summer until we can pay for this to be done. Until then, we will persist to manage his issues as best as possible.

He is enjoying being spoilt in our new flat too .. away from possible outside allegens 🥰
