Tunnels seem to be coping with the long spell of hot weather, us not quite so much! Early morning watering and weeding continues! Jalapeños have thankfully bounced back after the first hot spell in May!

Another first in our chilli farming career! Covering over the chillies to avoid sun damage in the upcoming heatwave! The jalapeños are still recovering from the last hot weather! The first flowers are appearing though which is good! The dramatic changes in weather this year is definitely keeping us on our toes!

This is the reality of 34 degree heat early in the season, adding at least another 10 degrees in the tunnels. A lot of the plants have scorched but new leaves are coming through. This week we will be taking all the dead leaves off. Never seen such hot temperatures this early in season, the delicate plants definitely don’t like it!
