Dog Snuffle Mats

06/09/2023

🐶❓
A typical dog's nose has over 300 million odour receptors, compared to about 6 million in a human's nose! 👃😲

Snuffle mats are the perfect way to provide physical and mental enrichment - and for your pooch to use all those receptors! ✨

Our snuffle mat can be used for dogs of all ages and breeds, helping slow down fast eaters, encourage them to use that fantastic sense of smell, reduce anxiety and even burn energy! 🐕💗

Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🌈🐾

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together..."

Depending on the breed or type, a dog's sense of smell is around 10,000-100,000 times better than ours. 👃

It's difficult to understand just HOW powerful this is, so compare it to sight - what we can see around a third of a mile away, a dog could see more than 3,000 miles away! 😲

Sniffing is vital to dogs in so many ways; it helps them discover areas, who have passed by recently, who lives there, and even what mood they were in. 🧠
It can also help lower stress levels, especially for those more anxious canines, as it helps them feel more secure in their area. 💗

Our Snuffle Mat helps promote this natural behaviour and allows for mental stimulation to take place inside the home as well as on walks. 🚶
Just 20 minutes of sniffing is equivalent to an hour's walk, in terms of enrichment for your pooch! 🐶

It's important to appreciate your older puppies too 💗

Look over at your pooch. Does he seem happy? Or does he look...bored? 😴🐶

But how can he be? He went on that 30-minute walk this morning before you went to work. And he'll have another walk this evening!

Studies show that walks, whilst beneficial to your dog physically, are not enough to stimulate your dog's mental needs alone. (www.pupford.com). 🐾
It's recommended that dogs receive 20 minutes of mental stimulation daily. 🧠

But how?
Here at Cow Pet Products , we firmly believe in canine well-being. Our Snuffle Mat encourages natural foraging behaviour, allowing your dog to use his brain and enjoy some tasty treats! 🦴
