Today we were down at Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade for a return visit. We had prime position right by the tills to catch everyone leaving the store, which was really kind of them as they had cleared us a huge space.
Quite a few flurries of interest - In the morning a couple of families were very interested in the houndies, so hopefully the kennels will be getting some visitors in due course.
Many thanks to the team who came to support us today with their hounds:-
Morning shift was Cathy, Bob, Linda, Hazel & Viv - With hounds Beth, my Dino, McEwen, Rumble and Violet.
Afternoon shift was Sue, Judy, Alison & Gus with hounds Saffy, Cody, Charlie, Harry, my Charlie and Stumpie.
Quite a few people came down to the store just to say hello today which was really nice - Raymond & Jeanette with Harry who found his home in March - Charlie who went home in January with his owners - And Ursula and Dougie with Winnie and Bo (was TomJo in the kennels and he was the first hound of 2014 to find a home).
The Tester family also paid us a visit - They see us at Pets At Home and come to some of the walks, and walk a spare hound.
Haven't counted every penny yet, but looks like it's around £100 in the donation buckets today which is always an added bonus at an awareness day.
All the customers enjoyed meeting the hounds, and we met some lovely people today. Fantastic to be made so welcome by the management and staff at Mayberry - We had a great time.
