Princess 👑

Yesterday I had the pleasure of fitting a lovely little pony, and I have the owner’s permission to share my findings.
Incorrectly fitted bits are far more common than many people realise, and this is a perfect example of how small adjustments can make a significant difference to a horse’s comfort and way of going.

Princess had been presenting with head shaking, reduced braking response, and general signs of discomfort. On assessment of her tack, I immediately noticed that her full cheek snaffle had been fitted back to front. As a result, the shaped cannons — designed to contour away from the bars of the mouth — were instead applying unnecessary and continuous pressure directly onto them.
In addition, the bit had been fitted approximately four holes too low. This meant Princess was having to constantly support and stabilise the bit herself, creating excessive movement within the mouth and contributing to tension and stress.

Following a full assessment and conversation, I refitted Princess with a lightweight hanging cheek featuring a low port. This design offered improved stability while reducing both tongue and poll pressure.

The improvement in her comfort and acceptance was immediate, resulting in a much happier and more settled pony.

The gorgeous Saffie modelling one of my new Equipe bridles in stock ❤️ beautifully soft and anatomically fitting.

The handsome Latch modeling my favorite Amerigo bridle today, beautiful soft and anatomically fitting just like the Equipe. ( Note that Latch needs a size up, currently modelling the cob but needs the full)

These bridles are absolutely exquisite and very good value.
