This conversation meant a lot to me as one thing Sarah talks about here is how what she was seeing elsewhere didn't match the reality she was experiencing with her horse, and I think that's something many people can relate to.
It's very easy to feel like everyone else is having effortless success while you're struggling with a horse who feels worried, reactive, shut down, or simply doesn't fit the mould. Social media can make it look as though progress should be quick, neat and glossy when the reality is often very different and that's one of the reasons I created Eohippus.
Eohippus isn't just an online course. It's a place where people from all over the world can come together to learn, ask questions, share experiences and support one another without judgement. A connected community of people who care deeply about their horses and want to understand them better.
Most of the horses we discuss come with history, baggage, confusion, fear, or experiences that have left them feeling unsafe. Helping those horses isn't about finding a clever technique. It's about understanding what's in front of you, building trust, and learning how to work with the horse you actually have. That process isn't always pretty and it rarely follows a straight line!
I'm incredibly grateful to Sarah for sharing her experience and for trusting me to be part of her journey through Eohippus, whether you're in the UK, Australia, the USA, Europe, or anywhere else in the world, you're welcome here.
If you've ever felt like your horse wasn't reading the same rule book as everyone else's, you're not alone and sometimes the biggest breakthroughs happen when we stop trying to make things look right and start trying to understand why they don't feel right.
Thank you, Sarah!
