We are delighted to announce that we have renewed our Cat Friendly Clinic Gold Status. 🐱

We understand that a visit to the vet can be stressful for both cats and their owners, so we are incredibly proud to hold this accreditation.

This is a top-level award issued by International Cat Care, and our team is trained and equipped to provide a calm, welcoming, and safe environment for your feline friends, starting with dedicated cat waiting areas.

Thank you to our wonderful clients for trusting us to treat your cat and a shout out to our amazing team who work hard every day to maintain our standards.

Say hello to Max the Cockapoo. Look how cute he looks in his birthday bandana! 💜

Max had a birthday trip to see our Veterinary Nurse, Maja. He came in for his kennel cough vaccination and to have his nails clipped.

Kennel cough isn't just caught in kennels! Kennel cough is a contagious respiratory infection which spreads easily through close contact with other dogs, as well as through airborne droplets from coughing and sneezing. This means dogs don't have to visit kennels to become infected; they can pick it up on walks, training classes, in daycare, at grooming salons, or anywhere they socialise.

Vaccination helps reduce the risk of your dog developing kennel cough and can lessen the severity of signs if they do become infected. It also helps limit the spread of infection to other dogs. Many boarding kennels and daycare facilities require dogs to be vaccinated against kennel cough before attending.

If you think your dog needs their vaccination, give us a call on Bridlington 01262 677269 or Driffield 01377 252087

On Friday evening, our team swapped scrubs for tennis rackets and enjoyed a fantastic cardio tennis session at Driffield Recreation Club. 🎾

A huge thank you to the club for this brilliant session and a big thanks to our team who joined in! 👏

We followed this with a lovely tea at the clubhouse; a brilliant way to unwind together outside of our busy practice.

‼️Attention‼️

🌈 🐾 Is your cat missing?🐾 🌈

We have had entire male tabby cat handed into our Driffield practice.

He was found in the Sigglesthorne area.

We’re sorry to say he has passed away before arriving to the practice. Sadly he has no chip for us to inform the his owner.

If you or anyone you know is missing a cat of this description please get in touch on 01377 252087 as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Say hi to Rocky 👋

Rocky the cat is under the care of The Cats Protection League and has been in for his vaccinations and health check. As you can see, he is a very chilled out little fellow!

We vaccinate cats for Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, Parvovirus/Panleukopenia and Feline Leukaemia.

Please be aware that we have seen recent cases of Panleukopenia (this affects the immune system and can cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms, even being fatal). We recommend all cats are vaccinated for this.

Ring our team 01262 677269 / 01377 252087 or find out more here https://www.aldgatevet.co.uk/small-animal/vaccinations/

Time to bust another myth!

If your pet is limping, it will just sort itself out, won’t it?

Find out from Giles, Vet and Director here at Aldgate, whether it’s a sign to get them checked out by a vet.

Our competition winner Sheldon, has had his first session!

Could hydrotherapy also help your pet?

Whether your pet needs help after an injury, is fighting the signs of old age or you’d like to give your pet some support in maintaining fitness and improving water confidence, hydrotherapy can provide many benefits.

Our Bridlington practice is home to a large, 30-degree heated hydrotherapy pool and an underwater treadmill for low-impact exercise.

Is BOAS Surgery Right for My Dog? 🩺

If your pup is a brachycephalic breed like a Frenchie, Pug, Boston Terrier, or Bulldog and struggles with noisy breathing, snoring, or tiring easily on walks, they might be dealing with BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome).

The recent heat that we’ve been having can make BOAS even more risky for our pets, and it puts them at more risk of heatstroke.

At Aldgate Veterinary Practice, we can assess whether BOAS surgery could help your dog breathe easier, sleep better, and enjoy a more active life.

Every dog is different, and we’ll walk you through what’s best for your pet.

📞 Give us a call or book a consult to learn more — your dog’s comfort might be just a surgery away!

To find out more about the surgery itself, visit https://www.aldgatevet.co.uk/small-animal/boas-surgery/
