Sweet girl 💛😽
This was not an aesthetically pleasing finish but this is sometimes unavoidable when a cat is matted.
When the matting is tight to the skin, it acts as a tight unyielding bandage against the skin.
This causes discomfort to the cat, leading to inflamed, itchy and sore skin.
My main priority is always the comfort of the cat and in this case the removal of matting.
This can also mean that I spread the appointments over two separate sessions if the cat has been with me for a long period of time.
(Dependent on the condition of the coat)
Mat removal first!
Any leftover coat or uneven fur last!
When the cat returns for its next groom once the fur has regrown, we can then work on keeping the coat beautiful and well maintained 💜🐱
PLEASE NOTE
There is absolutely never any judgement on the owner ☺️
This can easily happen to long haired cats, especially ones who go outside.
The cat will be comfortable and the fur will grow back. 🐈⬛ 😽
