Maes Glas Vets Maes Glas Vets is one of the largest practices in the South Wales area.

We are proud to provide veterinary services for the Dogs Trust in Bridgend and to the South Wales Police Dog section in addition to many local and organisations and our reputation for a quality service over a large area of South Wales speaks for itself. With over 20 vets, a large number of qualified support staff, and 6 branches, we are equipped and able to deal with a range of problems from chocolate poisoning in dogs to fracture repairs in cats. Our veterinary team bring a wealth of experience to the practice and have individually obtained high standards of professional qualification.

🌟🐾 **TUESDAY’S TIPS🌟

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CAT GOES MISSING!** 🐾🌟

We’ve had quite a few stray cats brought into us recently, so we thought we’d share some helpful tips on what to do if your beloved feline friend goes missing. 🐱💕

Cats are naturally curious and sometimes like to go exploring, but when they don’t come home as expected, it can be a very worrying time for any pet parent. 💔🐾

**So, what should you do if your cat goes missing?** 👇

😻 Search close to home!** 🏡 Check everywhere, including cupboards, garages, sheds, under bushes and even under cars. Cats can sometimes hide in the most unexpected places, and many are found surprisingly close to home!

😻 Check your microchip details!** 🐾 Contact your microchip provider and make sure your contact details are up to date. This is so important if someone finds your cat and takes them to a vet or rescue centre. ❤️

😻 Spread the word on social media!** 📱 Post on local lost and found pet groups and community pages. Include a recent photo, your cat’s name, where they were last seen and any distinguishing features.

😻 Get out and search!** 🔦 Walk around your local area calling your cat’s name and gently shaking their favourite treat container. Stop regularly and listen carefully. Your cat might be frightened and hiding nearby, or could even be accidentally locked inside a neighbour’s shed or garage.

😻 Contact local vets and rescue centres!** 🏥 Let nearby veterinary practices and animal rescue organisations know your cat is missing. Send them a photo and your contact details so they can look out for your furry friend.

😻 Ask your neighbours for help!** 🏘️ Knock on doors and ask neighbours to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings. Your cat may have wandered in unnoticed and become trapped.

😻 Use familiar scents!** 🧺 Try placing some of your cat’s familiar bedding or an item of your worn clothing near your entrance to help create a familiar scent. Keep checking nearby hiding places, too.

💗 **MOST IMPORTANTLY, DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!** 💗

Some cats hide away when they're scared, and it can take time for them to feel safe enough to come out. Keep searching, keep spreading the word and make sure people know how to contact you if your cat is spotted. 🐾❤️

🐱 **A little reminder:** Make sure your cat is microchipped and that your details are always up to date. It could make all the difference in getting your precious pet safely back home!

This is beautiful Pippa! 💕🐾She is a lovely energetic girlie that loves to come into our Llantrisant branch. Pippa has suffered really bad with her skin since she was a pup but it didn’t stop her gorgeous nature shining through. She’s now on the next immune injection which helps her skin massively! She comes in once a month for her injection and of course a lot of TLC! Her brother Alfie always accompanies her for moral support 💕🐾🐶 Well done Pippa we are so proud of how brave you are.

Lovely Margot came in to see RVN Chloe today at our Cowbridge branch. Like many of the dogs we see in practice, Margot is very nervous when visiting the vets, she particularly hates the stethoscope which is one of our most used pieces of equipment when assessing your fur babies. Chloe, who is our Dog Friendly Advocate, did a habituation and socialisation session with Margot today focusing on getting her used to being in the consultation room and being around the stethoscope. Margot did extremely well today and got lots of treats, fuss and kisses 🐾🥰

Please note, we are not behaviourists, these sessions are just about positive reinforcement to help your babies feel more comfortable when visiting us. If you would like to hear more about how we can help your dogs feel less stressed when visiting the clinic, please contact us. 🐾
