Four cats. Four very different personalities. One very special first adventure. 🐾🤍

Today, the doors opened on this beautiful Catio in Stevenage… and we got to witness something we never get tired of seeing.

Dexter was first out and after winning Best in Show yesterday, he clearly felt it was his duty to inspect everything properly. 🏆😂

Then came Zeus, taking his time and making himself at home.

Storm was next, quickly discovering just how high he could climb…

And then there was Donald. 🤍

Donald had never been outside before.

Watching him slowly, carefully take those first steps into his new world was such a special moment.

And then, somehow, all four were out together exploring, climbing, playing and making this space their own.

This is the part of building Catios we love the most.

Not just creating the space.

But seeing the moment it becomes theirs. 🐾

A huge thank you to our wonderful clients for looking after us so well throughout the build, making us feel so welcome, and for letting us be there to witness the reveal today.

And of course…

Jasper is clearly making the absolute most of his Catio but apparently, he’s not the only one! 😂

His owner tells us she sits out there just as much as he does… whatever the weather! ☀️🌧️

And honestly, that’s exactly what we love to hear.

The Catio is finished… but the best part is still to come. 🐾🤍

This beautiful white pergola Catio in Stevenage was designed to feel streamlined from the garden, while creating a safe, secure and exciting space for the cats.

Every detail has been made bespoke right down to the extra-wide door, shelving, cat cube and fully meshed panels.

And Sunday we’re going back… 🥰

Because this time, we get to see the cats enjoying it.

This Catio is MASSIVE… and it’s finally starting to feel like a cat adventure playground. 🐾🤍

Dan is now into his second and final week in Stevenage, and this week has been all about the details.

An extra-wide bespoke door ✔️
Custom ladders ✔️
Custom Cat Cubes ✔️
Loads (and I mean LOADS!) of bespoke shelving ✔️
And one seriously impressive tree trunk 🌳

Our customer wanted the tree trunk incorporated into the design, so Dan has securely fixed it to the brick wall, creating another natural climbing and scratching feature for the cats to explore.

All of the bespoke timber enrichment has been painted in Osmo Pure White a durable finish that not only looks beautiful but gives the pre-treated timber an extra layer of protection.

And tomorrow?

It’s time to start getting this enormous space meshed up. 👀

Then it’s the final details and finishing touches before this one is ready for its very lucky residents…

So… who is Christina? 🎨📷🐾

If you’ve been following Custom Pet Enclosures for a while, you’ve probably seen plenty of Dan, plenty of Catios and quite a few cats.

But you might not know who’s behind everything you see here.

That’s me.

While Dan is out on site designing and building, I’m usually behind the scenes looking after the website, social media, photography, content and all the visual details that help bring his work to life.

Creativity has always been a big part of who I am. I have a degree in 2D Design & Surface Decoration, and photography has been another part of my creative journey.

I don’t offer photography anymore, but I still love picking up my camera.

And sometimes, when I’m photographing one of our Catios, I find myself spending just as much time photographing the cat who lives there. 😂🐾

Because there’s something really special about capturing their personalities.

The curious faces.
The little characters.
The moments that make you smile.

Because ultimately, they’re the reason we do all of this. ❤️

Dan builds their spaces.

I get to help tell their stories.

And together, that’s Custom Pet Enclosures.

A year later… and bug hunting is still a favourite pastime. 🐾🐛

But the real test of a Catio isn’t how it looks on the day we finish it.

It’s how it becomes part of everyday life.

Julie’s words, one year on:

“ A year down the line and I can’t imagine not having our beautiful Catio. More to the point neither can Mittens and Bailey.”

That means more to us than we can say. ❤️

Because we’re not just building a space for cats to sit in.

We’re creating somewhere for them to explore, watch the world go by, soak up the sunshine, hunt the bugs… and simply enjoy being cats. 🐾

So… who is Dan? 🐾

If you’re new around here, let me introduce you to the person behind Custom Pet Enclosures.

Dan is the one who you will meet at your consultation, the man you’ll find on site measuring, designing, building, problem-solving and occasionally being inspected by a very serious-looking site supervisor. 😂

Building bespoke Catios isn’t simply about putting up a structure.

He thinks about the space, the home, the garden and, most importantly, the cat who is going to use it.

Because every cat is different.

Some want somewhere high to watch the world go by.

Some want shelves to climb.

Some want somewhere quiet to curl up.

And some just want to cause chaos. 😂

That’s what makes every build different.

And while Dan is the one physically creating the Catios, there’s a whole lot more that goes on behind the scenes too…

Which brings me to the next introduction. ❤️
