🐾 Do you carry a Pet First Aid Box? 🐶🐱
Accidents happen when we least expect them, whether you’re out on a long walk, traveling, or just relaxing at home. Being prepared with a well stocked pet first aid kit can make all the difference while you're on the way to the vet!
Here is our recommended checklist of essentials every pet parent should have on hand:
💧 2 x 20ml Saline Pods – Ideal to flush away dirt and debris from your pet's eyes or sensitive areas.
🩹 1 x Medium Dressing Bandage (with ties) – Perfect for covering small-to-medium injuries. Remember not to tie too tightly! Use tape to secure if needed.
🩹 1 x Large Dressing Bandage (with ties) – Designed for covering larger wounds or injuries safely.
✨ 1 x Foil Blanket – Essential for retaining body warmth and combating shock while transporting your pet to the vet.
🧻 5 x Gauze Swabs – Great for cleaning up fluids or wiping down areas after applying saline.
🩹 1 x Microporous Tape – Keeps dressings, wraps, and bandages securely in place.
🦵 1 x Conforming Bandage – Supports suspected sprains on limbs (fasten loosely with tape).
🧤 2 Pairs x Vinyl Powder Free Gloves – Keeps treatments hygienic and protects against contamination.
🐾 2 x Plastic Pouches – Cover foot injuries to keep them clean and dry on the go, just secure with tape!
🧏 4 x Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes – Gently clean around wounds before applying any dressing.
✂️ 1 x Scissors – For cutting bandages and tape.
🐕 1 x Spare Slip Lead – Ensures you can safely secure and control your pet if their collar or lead breaks during an emergency or even if you find a stray dog
🪲 1 x Tick Remover – Safely twist out ticks without leaving the head behind!
⚡ PRO TIP: Alongside your kit, make sure your pet’s microchip contact details are up to date! If your pet gets spooked or runs off during an emergency, up to date details on their chip are the fastest way to get them back to you safely. Collar tags can break off, but a current microchip is permanent safety!
