Please don’t walk your dogs I’m temperatures over 25 degrees, ideally cooler than that, which means over the next few days, if you can’t get your dog out before 7am, forego the walk, it won’t kill them but the heat can, and don’t forget, no tarmac walks, grass only. Tarmac and artificial grass gets unbearably hot in this weather. Play it safe, particularly with heavy coated dogs and Brachycephalic breeds.

This IS tongue in cheek but genuinely - for the past 20 years - this analogy has served me SO well when talking to friends and family about “which dog is right” (and usually, which dog isn’t right…so, you’re choosing to buy a tank rather than a Volvo when you’re a family of four who like visiting busy family places and have people around because…).

So, I thought I would chuck out a little infographic you can use when you’re persuading your 96 year old neighbour not to get a Ferrari and your 6 stone, city dwelling 18 year old influencer cousin not to get a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon as her first car. Enjoy x

Scentwork class starting Thursday 18th June Llangors

I will be running a scentwork class for 6 weeks from June 18th on Thursdays and will be at 5.45-6.45pm. The class will introduce a static indication to the scent or working on extending and solidifying an indication depending on if you have done scentwork before or not, the scents used will be red kong for beginners or gun oil for intermediates. We will be searching on tins, Pipes, chairs, bags, walls and cars at Llangors lake and farm vehicles and a shed plus the above at Hen Derw. There will be two mini competitions for fun one at week 3 and one the final week. The cost of the course is £75. This course is ideal for all dogs of any age and does build strong relationships between handlers & dogs. Weeks 1-3 will be at the lake and weeks 4-6 will be at Hen Derw in Trallong. There is some work to do for the week prior to the first class, There are 8 spaces for this course and the cost is £75. Please message me if you’re interested!
