“Why do I have to make an appointment?” 🤔
Because we’re not sitting behind a reception desk waiting for people to walk through the door! 😂
There is A LOT that goes on behind the scenes at Small Furry Hotel…
🐕 Walking the dogs
🐴 Looking after and riding the horses
🐐 Looking after the goats
🐰 Caring for all the rabbits & guinea pigs
🥕 Going shopping for vegetables and animal supplies
🧹 Cleaning, feeding and all the daily jobs
☕ And yes… occasionally remembering that we need to eat and have a life too! 😂
Our working day can start as early as 6am, and our last animal checks can be as late as 11pm.

So, realistically, we simply cannot be available 24/7 to meet people whenever it suits them.
When you make an appointment, we make sure someone is available to see you. ❤️

And if you've made an appointment but missed it, please don't just turn up later expecting us to be available. We may be out walking the dogs, caring for the animals, shopping, grooming, training… or doing one of the many other jobs that keep the business running.
📅 Please make an appointment before coming down.
It’s not us being awkward — it’s because we’re a small, hands-on business, and there’s a LOT happening behind the scenes!
We’d much rather give you our time properly when you arrive, than have you turn up and find nobody available. ❤️

🐰✨ A little before & after bunny groom!
Regular grooming is an important part of keeping your rabbit healthy and comfortable — especially for long-haired bunnies or those prone to getting messy around their back end.
We offer rabbit grooming and bunny bum cleans, helping to remove excess, loose and matted hair before it becomes a problem.
Rabbits naturally groom themselves, but when they ingest too much loose hair, it can contribute to problems with their digestive system and, in some cases, gut stasis.
Keeping on top of grooming means less hair being swallowed, fewer mats and a much happier, more comfortable bunny. ❤️
Don’t wait until your bunny is heavily matted or their bum is sore and dirty — regular maintenance is much easier (and kinder) than trying to deal with a big problem.

🐰✨ BEFORE & AFTER — WHY REGULAR GROOMING MATTERS ✨🐰
Just look at the difference! This beautiful Doe had her groom today, and what a transformation. 💕

But grooming your rabbit isn't just about keeping them looking tidy — it's an important part of their health and wellbeing.
Rabbits naturally shed their coats and will groom themselves, meaning they inevitably swallow some hair. Unlike dogs and cats, rabbits cannot vomit, so anything they swallow has to pass through their digestive system.
Regular grooming helps to remove loose and dead hair before your rabbit has the opportunity to ingest it, reducing the amount of hair they swallow.
Too much hair can contribute to a slow or compromised digestive system, particularly if your rabbit is already not eating or producing normal amounts of droppings.
🧡 Regular grooming can help: 🐰 Remove loose and dead coat
🐰 Reduce the amount of hair ingested
🐰 Prevent painful matting and knots
🐰 Keep the skin healthy
🐰 Allow you to spot lumps, sore areas or skin problems early
🐰 Keep your rabbit comfortable, especially during moulting
And remember — grooming isn't just for long-haired rabbits! Short-haired rabbits need grooming too, particularly when they're moulting.

🐰🐰 130 missed calls. 60 missed emails. And this is me… 😂

No, we haven’t disappeared. And no, we’re not sitting around ignoring our messages!

We’re busy working in our business — looking after the animals in our care, cleaning, grooming, feeding, checking everyone is happy and healthy… and generally doing all the things that make Small Furry Hotel what it is. 🐰🐹❤️

The animals always come first.

We do our admin, emails and phone calls when we have a break in the day — which means we may not always be able to answer straight away.

📱 The best way to contact us is WhatsApp.
We can often pick messages up between jobs and reply when we get a moment.

☎️ Need to speak to us? No problem! We’re very happy to arrange a phone call for a time when we know we’ll be free and able to actually give you our full attention.

🏡 Want to come and have a look around the hotel? You’re very welcome! We’re happy to arrange viewings when we’re not busy caring for the animals.

We really do appreciate your patience and understanding. We’re a small business, and when you contact us, we’re often right in the middle of caring for someone’s much-loved pet. ❤️
We promise we’ll get back to you — just not always immediately! 😁

What an amazing 3 months. I started nearly 20 years ago with just 8 hutches. I could not have completed the last 3 months as well as we did without my right hand woman Abi. I am super fussy and constantly wanting improvements, and Abi is right next to me helping to achieve all the things we do from the website, shop and most important all the cleaning and care our guest need.
