It’s fascinating to watch the development of crested gecko eggs from start to finish 🥚🦎

From a freshly laid egg, to seeing the baby develop inside, right through to those final stages before hatching - there’s so much happening behind the shell.

And then, after weeks of waiting, a tiny crested gecko finally emerges. 🤍

Nature really is incredible, and getting to see each stage of the process never gets old.

Not every clutch goes to plan 🥚🐠

We give our breeding pairs everything they need and provide tiles and pots for them to lay on… but sometimes they have other ideas and decide the side of the glass is the perfect spot. 😅

Tiles and removable spawning surfaces make life much easier because once the eggs are laid, we can move the entire clutch into a separate hatching setup with the correct flow and aeration.

When they lay directly on the glass, that obviously isn’t an option.

But it doesn’t mean the clutch is lost.

Instead, once they begin hatching we can use a different approach, darken the tank, shine a torch into one corner and use the larvae’s natural attraction to light to gather them together. From there, they can be carefully siphoned into the larval rearing tank.

So if your clownfish ever decide to lay somewhere completely inconvenient… don’t panic.

We’re getting ready for a BIG 2027 🐠🔥

A little pressure only sharpens the vision. More breeding pairs, more clutches, more morphs and a much bigger supply of captive-bred clownfish coming through the hatchery.

One of our goals for 2027 is to successfully raise our Orchid Dottybacks beyond the larval stage. Alongside that, we’re focused on increasing clownfish production to give our partner stores a consistent and reliable supply ❤️

The work starts now! 👀

Two fresh clutches from two of our strongest breeding pairs 🐣🔥

💙 Frostbite Pair - consistently producing some seriously high-blue offspring, with plenty of variation coming through each batch.

🖤 Onyx Percula Pair a producing fantastic dark pigmentation alongside some really striking Picasso patterning.

Both clutches are looking nice and full, so we’re excited to see what comes through from these over the next few months.

Plenty more captive-bred designer clownfish on the way!

Here’s another one of our crested gecko babies that will be ready in a few months through EXORA! 🦎🔥

This little one is from the same clutch that we’re produced from the pairing of our breeders Kraken × Cinder. When they’re ready to leave they will be available through our website to the public and our partner retail stores.

Both Kraken and Cinder come with extensive lineage behind them, so it’s great to see what they’re producing together. This baby is developing really nicely already, with some lovely colour, pattern and structure coming through.

Really excited to see the remaining eggs from this breeding season to hatch!

Male Black Night Leopard Gecko 🖤 🔥

Meet our exceptionally dark Black Night male for EXORA, it’s difficult to find males with this level of darkness and coverage. No known hets and produced form a reputable breeder with a decade of experience.

This male was produced by being crossed into the Carbon line to strengthen the genetics while maintaining that deep, dark Black Night appearance.

A really exciting animal for the future and an important part of what we’re building into our Black Night projects.

Over the coming months our first ever crested geckos will soon be available as part of Exora. 🦎

Here is one of the two youngsters that are currently being grown out and monitored closely, once they’re fully established and meeting our standards for release they will be available on our website.

We’ll also be sharing regular photos so you can watch their progress, see how their colours and patterns develop, and follow them as they grow before they become available.

Exora animals will be available to both the trade and the general public, giving stores and private keepers access to carefully selected captive-bred livestock from trusted breeders.
