ow call a ‘side-hustle’, a way to generate extra income alongside our dairy herd and arable farm. Fast forward 30 years, and we now have a beloved business making natural hay products for a variety of pets with an incredible team led by Chris, his son, Will Peel-Yates and wife Liz. From our hay to our straw, bedding, and 'Nibbley Bit' herbs - our mission is to make the best quality pet products here at the farm (or through our trusted local farmer network) with the least impact on our planet and the environment.

Our Green Oat Hay is a tasty treat hay, perfect for offering alongside everyday hays such as Meadow or Timothy.

With its crunchy stalks, tasty seed heads and naturally nutty aroma, it’s a great way to add different textures, flavours and variety to their usual hay routine – while encouraging plenty of natural foraging and munching! 🌿

Instagram vs reality 😂

Toast couldn’t wait to start chomping his treats!

These crunchy flower-shaped cookies combine apple and carrot for a naturally tasty treat packed with flavour and goodness.

Perfect for an occasional snack, a little enrichment, and of course… that all-important CRUNCH! 😋

Safe to say Toast gives them his seal of approval 💚

Harvest prep with Will & Dave! 🌾🚜

Before the combine can get to work, there’s one very important job… checking the barley is ready to harvest.

Here’s Will chatting with Dave, our wonderful combine driver, as he carries out a few key tests on the grain:

🌾 Moisture: 11.9% ✅
This needs to be below 15%, so we’re good to go!

🌡️ Temperature: 28°C
An important check to make sure the grain is suitable for safe storage.

⚖️ Bushel weight: 73 kg/hl
This measures the weight and quality of the grain. A bushel weight of 73 is a great result and shows the crop has developed well.

With all three checks looking good, it was time to get the combines rolling and Harvest 2026 underway! 🚜💚
