Did you know... reverse sneezing can be common in dogs but it’s usually nothing to worry about. If you notice your dog suddenly making a honking, snorting or wheezing sound that lasts for a few seconds this is likely a reverse sneeze and you should see them recover very quickly and go about their day.

Reverse sneezing can be caused by excitement, temperature change, mild allergies, pulling on the lead and some breeds will do it more than others (flat faced or small breeds for example).

If you notice that their reverse sneezing is becoming more regular or lasting longer than what is normal for them, it causes blood, mucus or a bad smell or they seem unwell or not quite themselves, then this is when you should consult a vet.
