🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate the joy, comfort and companionship dogs bring to our lives. ❤️
They make us smile, keep us company, encourage us outdoors and help us feel calmer, more connected and less alone. Sometimes, a wagging tail and a cuddle are exactly what we need! 🐶💕
Here’s to our wonderful four-legged friends! 🐾

What is your dogs Social Battery looking like today ?🐶
Is it full or running on empty ?🔋🪫
Can you tell when they need to recharge?
Just like us they can’t be sociable all the time,
I know that when Nelly or Bramble do a session with a group of people their battery will drain a LOT faster than when they are doing 1 to 1 sessions 😴💤🫩

🐾 The importance of choice 🐾

This photo of Bramble from today’s session is such a lovely example of choice.
In Animal Assisted Support & Learning, we don’t want our clients to feel they have to interact with our animals — and equally, our animals shouldn’t be expected to interact when they don’t want to.

We give them both the opportunity to choose.
Here, Bramble has chosen to be close, and the client has chosen to enjoy her company.
We often hear that dogs don’t like being hugged — and many don’t. Being held tightly can make them feel uncomfortable or unable to move away.
But this is a lovely way to enjoy a cuddle without forcing one.

Bramble chose the closeness. ❤️🐾

Sometimes, the best interactions happen when we simply allow them to happen naturally. 🌿

Exciting News!!… it’s time to share our new business name & Logo

Over the last few years, Hey Doggie has grown into something I could only have dreamed of, It has been an incredibly exciting journey, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported & encouraged us along the way.
As many of you know, our work is naturally evolving beyond therapy dogs & alongside our wonderful Nelly & Bramble I will soon be including our horses into the programmes, we can then expand the ways we support people through animal-assisted learning, wellbeing & support .
Because of this growth, it feels like the right time for our business name to grow too.
I really hope you like it !

Over the next few weeks I will gradually be changing everything over to the new business name and completing my equine assisted learning & support training as well as making sure all compliance is ready for sessions to begin in September,
I will also be introducing the new team members on here so everyone can get to know them 🐴🐴🐴
Finally- I am looking for some wonderful volunteers who might want to try out some free trial sessions with the horses, in return I will be asking for feedback so I can make sure I am offering the best possible service to my clients - send me a message if you are interested!🐾🐶🐴❤️
