I’m Lisa Sharp founder of LNZ dog training, and I'm delighted to welcome you to my page.

My Professional journey is a little different from many Dog trainers alongside being a certified dog trainer. I’ve spent decades working in healthcare education and leadership helping people learn to develop and succeed.

My background includes :

✅ Certified Dog Trainer
✅ Registered Nurse
✅ Qualified Teacher
✅ Masters in Management and Leadership
✅ Doctoral Researcher

What I’ve learned through my career is that every individual lens differs and the same is true for dogs

At LNZ Dog Training I combine evidence based approaches, compassion, patience, and practical training techniques to help dogs and their owners achieve success together.

Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy, working on recall, lead walking, confidence building or overcoming behavioural challenges, I believe training should be a positive , enjoyable, and tailored to the needs of both the dog and the owner.

My aim is not only to train dogs but also to empower owners with the knowledge, confidence, and skills they need to build a strong and lasting relationship with their dog.

Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing training tips, advice, dog training myths, client success stories and insights from my work with dogs and their owners.

Due to challenging weather conditions, we’ve had to cancel training sessions recently and including this weekend. I sincerely thank my clients for your continued patience and support during this time.

The health and safety of the dogs and everyone involved remain our highest priorities. I appreciate your understanding and look forward to resuming sessions soon.

Think your puppy is being chaotic on walks?

👀What looks like ‘nothing’ to us…. Is actually everything for your puppy.

Every sniff, pause, and curious step is how they learn about the world. The smell, textures, sounds, and sights are all brand new - and exploring them is essential for building confidence and clam behaviour later in life.

When we rush walks or constantly redirect, we can accidentally take away these learning opportunities.

So next time your puppy is ‘just sniffing’….
Take a breath and let them.

Because a mentally fulfilled puppy is far more likely to become a settled, happy dog.
