Meet Stewie the Border Collie x German Shepherd!

Stewie has started attending hydrotherapy for our Senior Swims. He’s beginning to feel the sudden effects of ageing, with some hind limb weakness and stiffness making things a little more challenging for him.

Hydrotherapy can be a fantastic way to support senior dogs like Stewie. The buoyancy of the water helps take pressure off the joints while allowing them to move more freely, helping to maintain muscle strength, improve mobility, support joint flexibility and encourage comfortable movement. 🐾💦

Stewie did so well during his first session! He was more than happy to work with our hydrotherapists and comfortably entered the pool. He seemed to particularly enjoy the treats and underwater massage — and who could blame him?! 😂❤️

The swimming aspect helped to loosen him up, encourage movement and get those muscles working, and Stewie took it all in his stride.

Meet Paddy the JRT cross!

Paddy has joined us for hydrotherapy to help with weight management and to support the management of a suspected cruciate tear. 🩺🥼

He was such a good boy during his first session! Although he was a little nervous to begin with, it didn’t take Paddy long to relax and discover that hydrotherapy can be lots of fun — especially when there’s a squeaky ball involved! 🐾💦

In fact, Paddy was having so much fun towards the end of his session that his new favourite ball even lost its squeak! 😂🎾

We’re looking forward to working with Paddy and helping him exercise safely in a non-weight-bearing environment, allowing him to burn calories, build strength and work towards achieving a healthier weight, while supporting his mobility.

Meet Jessie the Border!

Jessie is joining us for our Senior Swims, designed to help older dogs stay active, comfortable and enjoying life. Hydrotherapy can provide gentle, low-impact exercise that helps support mobility, muscle strength, joint movement and overall wellbeing, while giving senior dogs a chance to stay active without putting unnecessary strain on their joints. 🐶❤️

And Jessie certainly knows how to enjoy herself! From her very first swim, Jessie was a confident girl in the pool. It didn’t take her long at all to feel comfortable in the water, and she happily followed her ball around the pool with a waggy tail and plenty of enthusiasm! 🎾🐾💦

For Jessie, her sessions are simply about having fun, getting in the water and chasing that ball. She has no idea about all the wonderful benefits she’s getting along the way! 👏🏻🫶🏻

Hannibal had a very important guest at his hydrotherapy session… His teddy bear! 🧸🐾

Teddy was on his best behaviour, sitting perfectly still and keeping nice and quiet so he didn’t distract Hannibal from his session. We think he deserves a gold star for being such a good spectator! ⭐️😂

Traffic Update – Please Allow Extra Travel Time ⚠️

Please be aware that there is currently an extra build-up of traffic due to the ongoing roadworks, which are now moving towards the Tesco garage at the bottom of our road.

A four-way traffic light system is now in place, which is causing additional delays in the area. 🚦

Brock came for hydrotherapy and brought his new family member along… though Braque seemed to think he was running the session! 😂

He was more than happy to get stuck in with the important job of ‘assisting’ during shower time. 🐶🚿

Meet Arthur the Labrador!

Arthur was such a good boy from start to finish. He was incredibly easy-going, followed our hydrotherapists’ directions beautifully and quickly learnt the routine of the session without any hesitation. 🐾💦

Arthur looked like he really enjoyed his time in the pool and was super eager to please, making his session an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. 🫶🏻

Well done, Arthur — you were a superstar! 🐶🌟
