Welcome to KL Pet Behaviour!

My name is Kita. I have been a registered veterinary nurse for 4 years with a passion for animal behaviour. I have spent the last 2 years studying with The Centre of Applied Pet Ethology (COAPE) to gain my diploma in Animal Behaviour.

So now I am beginning my new journey as a behaviourist, providing help and assistance to those who may be struggling with behavioural issues in their cat or dog, or to those who have just brought a new addition home to the family and would like help with puppy training. Training can also be offered to dogs of any age as no one is ever too old to learn!

Meet Bailey 😍

Bailey isn't overly keen on new people so at the start she would bark and lunge but after about a month of working together she's warming up to me. No more barking or lunging, instead she is voluntarily taking treats from my hands and even pawing me to tell me I'm not giving her treats quick enough!

Still got a way to go with other areas of her training but both Bailey and her mum are working incredibly hard and it's paying off 😁

Isn't she just gorgeous 🥰

***Did you know***

Did you know that a change in behaviour may mean that your pet has something going on on the inside??

My own Molly started acting out of sorts so I took her to the vet before deciding her problems were behavioural and we decided to take some bloods. These results informed us that she had high liver enzymes which then led to a snazzy hair cut and an abdominal scan. The final answer was that she has a mass on her liver which was causing her to act unlike herself. Now she is on medication to help her feel better and her behaviour has (mostly) gone back to normal.

This is why us behaviourists like to know if your pet has had a vet check recently! It's always worth getting your fur babies checked out if you are worried!
