Another thing I suggest in my sessions is short training sessions incorporated into walks, this morning we practiced do around a pole for no reason other than the fun of it.

When geeking out WaggaWuffins Canine College Jane taught us about location specific markers. This morning this came into use. I use the word Bee to let Arlo know the food is coming from behind me and this stops her pulling especially on the slippy floor, this behaviour has not been generalised yet it only happens in one place this is something I also go on about with my clients, dogs don't generalise things need practicing in different locations.
This got me thinking when I tell my clients where to place treats for example feed the mat when teaching a settle or feed down your leg for loose lead walking.
Some people think reward based training is just about throwing treats about, there is more to it even for pet dog training.
