Hi all, I started a fundraiser on GoFundMe and would appreciate your support please.

Our rescue needs a new shed - our roof is bulging and it's not going to last another winter. We've looked at repairing the current shed but for what it would cost to be honest it makes far more sense to replace the shed. We can get something bigger to aid us in caring for the hedgehogs in the best way we can.

Someone didn't enjoy the bath so much - but seemed quite enamoured with the warm hairdryer at the end!!!
It's been a tough few days at rescue with losing a considerable number of very poorly hogs. Among them were Timmy, Jemima, Bob and Rupert.....I hate losing them but all were as comfortable as I could possibly make them and I hope knew they were loved.

On the flip side Sonic, Fernando and Norm, all of who I expected to lose, continue to do great and are all now out at foster and piling the weight on. We've got some very cute littlies in at the moment too. I think Brian is the smallest at 136g.

Good grief Pauline!!! A little someone decided to go on a big adventure last night and forced her small body out of her hutch. The shed door was closed so we knew she had to be in there somewhere. Cue Barbara and me crawling on our hands and knees looking under and moving everything. Until I just wondered if she may have fallen into the shredded paper box. It was a long shot - until I found a small hog poo stuck in the top paper. We dug down and there she was. Little monkey!!!! Looks like butter wouldn’t melt doesn’t she?!

Autumn juvenile season is in full swing. It’s a hard time of year as the admissions are relentless and the hogs are frequently very ill and very underweight. We probably lose more at this time of year than any other and it’s hard but what keeps me going are those that come into rescue so ill that I don’t think they stand a chance and yet they defy all the odds and fight to thrive. I hang onto every story like that when I feel low and exhausted.

Gorgeous Timmy was spotted trying to do his shopping at Middlebrook this morning. But we all know healthy hedgehogs only shop at night so he’s safely here at rescue now. 🦔❤️🦔

Last nights five hour flystrike removing session was so worth it. Just look at Sonic this morning!!

Sonic came in just over an hour ago. Very cold and absolutely covered with flystrike. He also had maggots inside where a boy would not want maggots. He’s slowly warming up but it will be me, him and the tweezers for most of the evening I would imagine.
