I follow the first in first out method with the chemical products in the salon to make sure that product doesn't expire before I get to it! Writing expiration dates on the front of my shampoos has really helped me keep track of everything, as I often have several unopened bottles on the shelves at any given time.

Are you looking for a new dog groomer? Scammers are now pretending to be mobile groomers!! ⚠️

Please always do your research before booking in with ANY business! These people pretending to be groomers are taking deposits and booking in appointments that will never go ahead.

Now I must stress that a groomer taking a deposit isn't a red flag on its own - many of us do this and it's a completely normal thing to do. But if their business page is full of AI, they can't answer basic questions (or the answers seem AI generated) and their online presence is lacking, it's a good idea to step back for a minute and do a bit of research.

So how can you spot a genuine dog grooming business?
✅️ several listings online (Google, Facebook, Instagram etc)
✅️ able to answer your questions
✅️ photos of their work on their pages
✅️ reviews and recommendations from other clients online
✅️ no pressure to book an appointment

I can't believe I'm having to make this video, but I've seen SO MANY of these pages that it needs to be spoken about. I may seem a little dramatic about this, but I'd much rather have people aware of what's going on and avoid losing their money!

When this year's Halloween tunic was launched, I loved the checkered pattern on the sleeves! I'm however not a seasonal clothing buyer in the slightest (I've worn the same winter jumper for Christmas for 10 years 🤣) so I didn't order one.

But then Hannah from Skylas messaged me and said that we could do a prototype of sorts for a checkered tunic and I am in LOVE! My elder emo heart is very full right now.

⚠️ This tunic is currently not available to buy! I paid for mine as it's only fair, but as of this moment it's just a prototype. If you'd like this style to become available to buy, please make it known in the comments! I obviously do not have any say in the matter, but I'd love for this to be a permanent addition. ⚠️

After my first competition back in July it dawned on me that I need some kind of scissor holder to stop me leaving my scissors on my comp table. very kindly gifted me this Mr. Jiang scissor clamp that neatly sits on the edge of the table, keeping both your scissors and the dog's paws safe!

I also want to take a second to tell all my leftie groomers that G4G has leftie scissors in stock! I've had so many people ask me about left handed scissors since I started working with G4G, and the day is finally here! 😁 Adam himself is a leftie and really puts all the scissors through proper testing, so you're in good hands with Geared 4 Grooming scissors.

Let's have a natter about the International Grooming Conference and my second win 🏆

I was hoping that I'd feel a bit less emotional about it all today, but that clearly isn't happening just yet. The conference in general is one of the highlights in my diary every year. I've now attended three times and every year I've come away with so much more knowledge to implement at work and new friends. The industry can feel very isolating sometimes as most of us work alone, so seeing so many people in one place is always so much fun.

Winning a Liz Paul two years in a row still feels so surreal. I felt like last year was just a fluke, but to receive another award in the same category (TikToker of the Year) is mind blowing. All I've ever wanted was to make our community stronger and more connected with my social media content, and being recognised for that work is so humbling. Thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

I wanted to take a moment to talk about another local and independent pet business for a moment!

I've used VetsCarePets with my boys for around four years now and genuinely couldn't recommend them enough. They offer a mobile service which is such a convenience with Alfie's behaviour issues (he is reactive to life itself) and their beautiful new clinic on Chichester Road in Bognor Regis is an amazing addition. Earlier this week I needed to take Kevin in as he'd developed an ear infection, and our vet Eva also removed SO MUCH hair from Kev's inner ear. It took 10cm forceps to get all the way in there, who knew a small dog had such long ear canals!

I always recommend VetsCarePets to any client who is asking for a local vet, and I'll be keeping some business cards in the salon from now on. They're also running an offer on dental cleaning services right now, so make sure to get in touch with the clinic if your pet is in need of some dental TLC.

It's nearly conference time!! Who's going and what are you looking forward to the most?

If you're still on the fence about coming, I couldn't recommend the International Grooming Conference enough. I've made new friends, learned so much it hasn't all retained in my head and networked with brands. This year there's also two opportunities to party, with the groomers social on Friday night and then the Liz Paul Awards on Saturday.
