Before & After π±
Another quick trim done round at my kids' mum's. I'm happy with how it's coming on. The grass is slowly starting to look less patchy and a bit healthier each time.
Most new-build lawns are laid on pretty poor soil with very little organic matter. Over time, regular mowing can help improve things by:
β’ Organic matter from decomposing grass roots
β’ Grass clippings breaking down
β’ Worms pulling material into the soil
β’ Increased microbial activity
As this happens, the top layer of soil gradually becomes richer and better at holding water and nutrients.
It's not a quick process and can take years to have a significant effect, but as the lawn thickens and holds moisture better, it creates a much better environment for overseeding and filling in those bare patches.
Slow progress is still progress. ππ±
