🐄Since we started in 2020, Vetpartners and Cornwall Dairy Vets have been supporting CEFRIEF and their work in Uganda.

🌴Phil visited Uganda in 2018 to help set villages up with knowledge of animal husbandry and simple veterinary procedures to help them become self sufficient.

🐐These are all photos of the various projects in Uganda that CDV has supported, mainly by giving advice. Vetpartners themselves have funded the building of a goat farm on a school and made the website for the charity that have now got a piggery, goat farm, small dairy and many micro agricultural businesses running out of schools and churches.

☀️Phil will be returning to Uganda in November to see just how far these villages have come. He’s quite modest about his work but it’s really interesting if you get him talking about it!

We’ve been nominated for Farm Animal Practice of the Year by Surrey Vet School.

We’re proud to mentor Surrey vet students throughout their final year of university and would like to extend this recognition to our farmers who all welcome these students on farm, allow them to participate in procedures and are willing to answer any questions they have on the running of their herds. We couldn’t do it without you!

I think we all agree that supporting the future of our profession is hugely important and we’re proud to be part of that!

Due to one of our beloved Tb testers going home work on the farm, we are hiring!

Qualified TB Tester & Vet tech

The basics…

-5 day week; Tb testing 4 days per week with 1 day of Vet Tech work (no weekends)
-Basic salary package ranging from £25,396. Option of additional bonus's for Tb testing per head, testing approx. 20,000 animals a year
-Newly purchased practice van included
-6.6 weeks holiday including bank holidays
-Health insurance
-Sick pay
-Company pension


A little bit about the job…
-Our testers start times do vary daily to fit with milking protocols, so a degree of flexibility is needed, though early starts do result in early finishes. Length of days vary.
-Our clients are dairy farms so pace of testing and facilities are good
- Vet tech work includes disbudding, mobility scoring, condition scoring, weigh taping and vaccinating calves
-We are a small team of 7, working closely with our farmers and so a friendly, helpful personality is a must!
