Pentti, unfortunately can't be trusted loose in the field when the cows are nearby.
So we spent a couple of laps finding a patch of grass, inspecting patch of grass, becoming one with patch of grass and ignoring all human commands...or he was just simply trying to escape his head collar.

I don't realise I take so many photos until I decide to upload them. Sorry, not sorry! πŸ˜„ but just look how gorgeous everyone is. I must admit, my dogs have a much busier social life than I do.

Poor Skye....She's only been here 1 night and already she has a severe case of 'Sybilosis Borderterrierensis'.

Symptoms include a rapid development of a border terrier shaped growth attached to the face. Mainly affects the mouth and ears, with persistent kissing. The patient may also experience reduced personal space and increased happiness.

Unfortunately the only cure is complete isolation. Attempts to remove the terrier shaped mass are usually met with immediate reattachment and the condition becomes chronic.

The prognosis for Skye suggests the Sybil shaped lump will only become more firmly established over the next week.

And the slo mo slobber she catches with her tail!! πŸ€€πŸ˜†

As you can see I've been playing with slo mo today. I have so many great clips.
This one.....the look on Embers face, just says it all! πŸ€ͺ

36 seconds of pure Beagle energy in slo - mo!
Zero coordination, maximum happiness, and enough ear flapping to generate enough renewable electricity for the whole of Luxulyan.

Walked out to some sort of a private meeting going on. I wonder what they're plotting?

Following on from yesterday's drama...
I'm bit achy and bruised today and was hoping today would be a good day.

Word clearly spreads quickly overnight.
Not through FB, not local gossip - but through the cows!

We arrived at the field today to find what can only be described as the entire Cornish cattle population lined up at the fence like spectators at Wimbledon.

No grazing, no moo-ing, just judgement!

One of them definitely made eye contact with me in a way that said "go on, do something stupid"
The pressure was real!

But, thank god no drama in the field today. It was the first time Sybil had come face to face with a cow, so why not let her meet them all at once?
The field had also been cut so it looked lush.
If we visit the field tomorrow morning before it gets too hot, I fully expect the cows to bring snacks and scorecards with them. It wouldn't surprise me if they had a quiet word to the bees.

It wasn't until I took my last dog home at the end of the day, and the gods looked down at me and thought "Hmm, she still has all 10 fingers - unacceptable!"

As the dog (not mentioning any names, but could be the one who tried wiping me out yesterday!) jumped out of the van and ran in to greet nanny, he decided he wanted custody of my finger. I don't recommend getting your finger caught in the metal ring on the lead by the way!

After 10 minutes swearing and trying to hold the tears in, I realised the finger was still attached. I survived.
The finger is very swollen, bruised and deeply offended.
I however, am living in fear of what tomorrow will bring me!

As long as all the dogs are OK!! On a lighter note, they all had a cracking day.

Warning! Long post incoming πŸ˜†

Today has been a full-on "you should have stayed in bed" kind of day....
Which is ironic really as it started with poor Dug falling out of bed in the night and glaring at me like I'd personally pushed him. πŸ˜’

Then on our way out there was an escapee cow πŸ„ standing at the end of the lane. Between 3 of us we managed to herd her back in to the Moor to her mates, although I'm certain she enjoyed every second of the drama. Naturally this made me late for my Thursday dogs.

By 10am I had....
β€’ Nearly impaled my shoulder on someone's gate.
β€’Smacked my head with the strimmer.
β€’ And seriously questioned whether I was being followed by bad luck or just auditioning for a countryside bloopers reel.

So, in an attempt to reset the universe, I decided to do a random act of kindness. I bought some flowers πŸ’ and gave them to the first stranger I passed to brighten up their day. (Desparately hoping they weren't allergic to Tulips!)
Honestly, best part of the day! The lady looked delighted and for a brief moment I thought maybe my curse had been lifted?
Spoiler alert: NOPE!

After some lead walking in the lanes and a lovely stroll round the village, we headed to the field. This is where Pentti decided to fully embrace chaos.
If he had opposable thumbs and a middle finger, I'd have definitely seen it today.

Thankfully he had the trailing lead on, so easy to catch.
What wasn't easy was discovering - too late - that whilst I'd been busy taking photos, he'd stealthily wrapped said trailing lead round my foot - YES! I went flying πŸ™ˆ

One minute I was standing there like a professional dog walker, the next I was recreating a low budget action stunt across the field. The last time that happened, I broke 4 bones in my foot!

I landed a bit funny on my wrist and now I'm sitting here with
- a bruised shoulder
- a sore wrist
- an aching foot
- a headache
- and what little dignity I had left scattered somewhere across the field. Hoping nobody saw me!

Anyway, if anyone needs me, I'll be wrapped up in fluffiness and ice packs and avoiding all farm animals, gardening equipment, gates and dogs with high energy until further notice...(tomorrow!!)
TO BE CONTINUED.....πŸ₯΄
