What are Equine Assisted Therapeutic Sessions
Equine Connect offers EATS which encompasses a range of treatments. What do we do? What are the benefits?

During sessions, you don’t actually ride the horse. Instead, you carry out activities such as feeding, grooming and leading the horse around obstacles. Many of the benefits of equine assisted therapeutic sessions are likely due to the nature of the horses themselves. Horses are naturally gentle and calm creatures and are able to mirror and respond to human behaviour, meaning that they are highly effective at interacting and working with others in a patient and non-judgmental manner. The activities and tasks you take part in will have an effect in enabling creative thinking and boosting self-confidence. You can develop skills such as communication, self-control, problem solving and accountability, as well as improving your self-esteem, empathy, flexibility and independence. Equine Assisted Therapeutic Sessions can also help to bring out emotions to express and feel, releases stress, teaches you to trust, work as a team and aid communication. Who we can help? Anybody and Everybody is welcome at Equine Connect, if you just want to experience the joy of being around horses or to let us help with your own personal healing process. Equine Assisted Therapeutic Sessions can help support many conditions like trauma, abuse, lack of self-confidence, addiction, behaviour or eating disorders and learning differences. Whatever your need Equine Connect is here to help you to discover more about yourself, develop new ways of thinking and change any negative behaviours.

I can’t think of a better way to spend Easter Saturday visiting Emilio’s brother Francis and Jacinta’s brother Mowgli 🥰 🐴 🐴 and of course not forgetting the gorgeous Emily Whelan the owner of these two beauties. xx

Review from a client

Three days with Equine-Connect allows you to be at one with the horse and nature, as your taken along the Camel Trail in beautiful Cornwall at a tranquil pace, allowing you to see all from your advantage point on your horse, to a glade, where you spend two nights under canvas, listening to the stream and the soft thud of the horses grazing next to your tent! The evenings are filled with fun, fire and friendship as you sit around the campfire, eating and playing games. Lisa put me at total ease on beautiful and confident Maristela , and gave me my confidence back after many years out of the saddle thank you.
Can’t wait to see you next year. Lisa and Maristela.🐴

So after all the awful weather we have endured and feeling exhausted and like there was no light at the end of the tunnel, something made me smile today. 😀 I saw a beautiful rainbow 🌈 and my little Jax the mule showing off his new jacket to his field buddies. I just love 🥰this cheeky chap. 𓃘

What a beautiful snowy morning.❄️🥶🧊⛄️
It is weather like this that our animals need us most. Extra hay needed, giving them shelter, breaking the ice in their water buckets and an extra little scratch and a cuddle to show them they are loved.🤗 They all seemed very happy in the ❄️ snow.

It is looking a lot like Christmas here at Equine-Connect. The children have been making paper angels 👼. Clients are bringing extra treats for the horses to cheer them up with the wet weather we have had. 🥕 🍎
Looking forward to making our Christmas video with the teenagers carousel ride. Enjoy the festivities. See you soon. 😊

🌼 Ever wondered what goes on at our Children’s Workshops? The answer is — A LOT!

Our sessions are all about having fun, sparking creativity, making new friends, and building teamwork skills — whether working in groups or independently. We spend time outdoors, embrace nature, and encourage children to think about how their actions impact the world around them. 💚

This photo captures just one of the many hands-on activities: making flower pots from recycled materials and planting blooms to brighten the yard for our horses! The kids even collected their own compost from the fields — a perfect mix of learning, care, and creativity. 🌸🐴
