MISSED APPOINTMENTS
🐾 Every missed appointment means another pet may not get seen.
📞 Please let us know if you can't attend.
❤️ Help us keep appointments available for pets that need them.

🐾 A Small Request to Help Us Care for More Pets 🐾
Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in missed appointments (no-shows) recently.
When an appointment is missed without notice, it doesn't just leave a gap in our diary. It also means that another pet who may have needed urgent veterinary attention has lost the opportunity to be seen.
As an independent practice, we try to keep our appointment availability as flexible as possible, especially for sick pets and emergencies. However, missed appointments make this increasingly difficult.
For this reason, clients who fail to attend an appointment without giving notice will be required to pay an appointment booking fee before future appointments can be made.
The booking fee secures the appointment slot and is credited against the consultation fee when the appointment is attended, so it is not an additional charge. However, if an appointment is missed without notice, the booking fee is non-refundable.
We completely understand that emergencies, traffic, work commitments and life in general can sometimes get in the way. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible and we will always do our best to help.
A quick phone call to cancel could mean another poorly pet gets seen that day.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make sure appointment spaces are available for the pets who need them most.

Sad Post - Post contains very graphic pictures‼️

This afternoon, an injured seagull was brought into our care after a member of the public found it injured near Bowes Street. Following a thorough examination by our veterinary team, it became clear that the extent of the injuries was severe and, sadly, the kindest and most humane option was euthanasia to prevent any further suffering.

On closer inspection, the wound appeared suspicious, so we decided to take an X-ray to rule out any possibility of foul play. Unfortunately, the X-ray revealed something we had hoped not to find.

The imaging showed a large pellet lodged within the bird, confirming that the devastating injury was not accidental. Vet Izzy removed the pellet for further examination and evidence collection.

We are shocked and deeply saddened that this bird suffered as a result of human actions. No animal, regardless of its species, deserves to endure pain, injury, or abuse.

This incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and will be investigated further.

We hope this serves as a reminder that wildlife deserves our respect and protection. While we could not save this seagull, we can ensure its suffering is not ignored.

💔 Rest peacefully, little one.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our RVN, Eiylish, on her graduation from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons! 🎓✨

Eiylish officially qualified in September 2025 and recently attended her graduation ceremony with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons — a fantastic achievement and a very special milestone in her veterinary nursing journey.

Her dedication, compassion, and hard work have already made such a positive impact, and we know she is going to continue to grow into an amazing veterinary nurse. 🐾💚

Congratulations, Eiylish — everyone here is so proud of you! 🩺🐾

Just a little update on our stray ‘Gary’, as I know a few of you have been asking about him 🤍

He is still with us and receiving all the TLC he needs. Today he had a lovely bath, which I think he actually enjoyed 🛁

He’s still under treatment, and we’re hopeful he will continue to make progress, but things are still very much uncertain at the minute.

Thank you all so much for your concern, love, and support for him 🐾
