🍂✂️ Lots of clipping videos incoming now that autumn is here and busy clipping season is officially kicking off!

First up… back leg lines! 🐴

Everyone has their own way of doing these, but I always go for a V shape — starting just above the point of the hock and working diagonally up towards the stifle, following the natural line of the muscle.

Getting those lines right makes such a difference to the finished clip 👌✨

🐴 Three Shetties, Three Different Clips… ✂️

Same breed, but three completely different clipping choices! Why? Because every clip should be tailored to the individual pony — their coat type, workload, skin and what they’re being used for.

✨ 1. Native Blend — Covercoat Blade
This little one is competing at a show this weekend, so I’ve used a Covercoat blade with a native blend to keep the finish looking as natural as possible.

💗 2. Hunter Clip — A2 Medium
This lovely lady is a little girl’s pony and takes part in lots of Pony Club activities. During the summer I use a Covercoat blade because of her pink skin, but in winter she throws her coat in very quickly, so an A2 is the better choice to keep her comfortable while she’s working.

🔥 3. Native Blend — A2 Medium
Another native blend, but this time using an A2 Medium. This pony is clipped regularly as she’s in a lot of work and tends to get hot, so we need to take more coat off while still keeping that lovely native look.

Three Shetties. Three coat types. Three different needs. 🐴✂️

Clipping isn’t one size gits all — choosing the right blade and clip for the individual horse or pony makes all the difference to the finish and, most importantly, their comfort. 🤎

I’ve now had Monday 7th September become available — and it’s my ONLY appointments available in SEPTEMBER 😰

So I’m offering it out for a larger yard booking! 🐴🐴🐴
