🐾 Important Reminder for Blackford Clients 🐾

As our Blackford practice temporarily closes for refurbishment from Monday 19th October, we'd like to remind clients to collect any medications, prescription diets, flea and worm treatments, and other repeat supplies before we close.

✅ Please arrange collection no later than Friday 16th October 2026.

If you are due to run out of any medication or preventative treatments shortly after our closure, please contact us as soon as possible so we can help ensure your pet has everything they need.

During the refurbishment period, our teams at Cheddar, Wells, Woolavington, Weston and Winscombe will be available to support you and your pets, with full access to your pet's clinical records.

For those of you who will really struggle to travel to our other branches for medication please do reach out to our reception team and we will make arrangements for you individually depending on your location 💚

As our Blackford branch undergoes refurbishment, some clinical services will temporarily be available at our other Axe Valley Vets locations.

🐕 Animal Health Certificates
If you require an Animal Health Certificate, please call and ask to book in with David or Dave. Their locations vary, so please contact our team for availability.

🏥 Operations & Procedures

Most surgical procedures will take place at:
✅ Weston-super-Mare
✅ Winscombe

🦷 Dental Procedures
Our dental X-ray equipment will be relocated to Weston-super-Mare, therefore all dental procedures will be carried out at Weston-super-Mare until further notice.

🔍 Ultrasound Services
Our brand new Ultrasound equipment has also been moved to Weston-super-Mare, where ultrasound diagnostics will be performed.

🏠 Home Visits
Home visits will continue where possible, with the Woolavington team having access to our practice ambulance. Additional home visit requests can still be arranged from other surgeries where appropriate.

We will continue to update you throughout the refurbishment 👷🏻‍♀️

As a result, the practice will be temporarily closed from Monday 19th October 2026 while the work takes place.

🐾 Today is Lymphoma Awareness Day.

Lymphoma is a common type of canine cancer, especially in middle-aged dogs.

It can show up in different ways, but a common sign is enlarged lymph nodes.

✅ Normally, lymph nodes are small, soft, and hard to notice.
