Puppy classes the last couple of weeks have included:

* socialisation with objects - this means checking that our puppies are comfortable with everything around them in the world from umbrellas, brooms and hoovers to scooters, people in hats or hi-vis jackets etc.and teaching owners how to deal with it if their puppy is uncomfortable with any of these things.

* Treat chasing - we want our dogs to have a really strong recall, every time we call them we want them to come back, it really comes down to keeping them safe. Treat chasing is amazing - it makes you the source of fun and food therefore making you high value to your dog!!!

* We have also been building on positions - helping our puppies stay in a sit/down position for that little bit longer! We know how puppies like to bounce around constantly!

We have a great bunch of puppies who are progressing amazingly! Keep up the good work 😃

Huge 🎉 congratulations 🎉 to Dave and River who passed 🥈 Silver 🥈 last week. Dave has worked hard on River’s training and despite some frustration🤣 she is a lovely girl who is really progressing and is a great scent dog too - good luck in Gold 👏🏻🎉

Just in case any of you feed your dog Years

⚠️RECALL ALERT: YEARS RECALLS ALL FRESH DOG MEALS⚠️

Years has announced a voluntary recall of all Years fresh dog meals with immediate effect.

The decision follows a growing number of reports of dogs developing sudden bilateral dry eye (keratoconjunctivitis sicca, or KCS) whilst fed the food.

According to Years, its investigation has identified a potential link with buckwheat, an ingredient used in all of its fresh meals since the start of this year.

If you currently feed Years
Stop feeding all Years fresh meals immediately.
Do not feed the meals to any other animal.
Follow Years' guidance regarding the recall, refunds and collection of unused food.

Symptoms to watch for
If your dog displays any of the following symptoms, contact your veterinary surgeon as soon as possible. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of permanent damage.

Redness or inflammation of the eyes
Thick eye discharge
Frequent blinking or squinting
Pawing or rubbing at the eyes
A dull, cloudy or dry appearance to the eye surface
