We even managed to get our Colin the Collie adopted too!!😁

CAT OF THE MONTH: MICHAEL, who is a chatty young boy, who loves a fuss and cuddle.

Michael was bought to us from a vet after he had initially been found stray😢 He is a friendly boy and will sit on your lap and have strokes and cuddles. He loves to play with a little kicker toy and enjoys dreamies and dry treats.

Sadly, Michael is not getting on with the other cats in our care, so we think he would be best suited to a home with no other pets, so he can have your undivided attention.🥰

DOGS OF THE MONTH: MEET SAPPHIRE!

Sapphire is an extremely pretty, loving and caring dog, that came in to us as a stray😢. She loves everyone and every dog she meets, and she isn’t shy with new people either💕
Her history is unknown, but she came in to us skinny and looked like she may have been bred from. Now she is looking for a loving home, with cuddles and food, somewhere to feel safe and cared for.
She likes going for walks with other dogs and is good off lead (in a secure enclosure only). Due to her breed, we wouldn’t rehome her with small animals or cats.

If you think you can offer her this type of home, she so deserves, please give us a call on 01279 501547🧡

CATS OF THE MONTH:

MEET POPPY AND NORI, who are 2 years old girls, who were initially found as strays😢. They were previously rehomed by us but have sadly come back into our care, as they weren’t getting on with the child in the family. The previous adopters really gave them a chance, but we now believe they would be better suited to a quieter home.🏠
We are seeking a patient, quiet home with no other pets or children for this beautiful pair. They are both shy, but we believe there is a perfect home out there for them, where they will become more confident and feel safe and secure.💕

To enquire, please call 01279 501547.

PLEASE GIVE A LONG-LEGGED BEAUTY A CHANCE!

Too many lurcher-type dogs are found as strays or abandoned, often after being used in illegal hunting such as hare coursing and lamping.🥺 These gentle, sensitive dogs deserve safety, kindness and a second chance.💕

FACT: Give a Lurcher (which is actually a greyhound cross) understanding and patience, and you may gain one of the most loyal companions imaginable.
With patience, structure and love, these beautiful dogs can blossom at home and become deeply devoted family members. Adoption does not just transform their lives — it can bring warmth, joy and unforgettable companionship into yours.🥰

LIFESPAN & HEALTH: Lurchers can live around 12–15 years, depending on diet and exercise. As athletic dogs with high metabolisms, they need good nutrition.
They may eat very quickly after exercise, which can cause bloating or vomiting, so avoid feeding within an hour before or after activity. A slow-feeding bowl or snuffle mat can help. Despite their energy, Lurchers have relatively few joint or muscle issues, although arthritis can develop in later life.

WAYS TO CHANNEL THEIR ENERGY: A misconception is that Lurchers need lots and lots of exercise, when in fact 1-2 hours per day is enough. A secure paddock is a wonderful way to build confidence and bond with your Lurcher, giving them safe space to run, play and enjoy their zoomies. Once their body and mind are satisfied, many are happiest curled up beside you for a long snooze. They may love a run, but lurchers are also famous couch potatoes.
Older Lurchers usually enjoy gentle walks, steady routines and plenty of time to sniff, explore and be by your side.

UNDERSTANDING AFFECTION: Some Lurchers may not be used to regular human affection, so their trust is especially precious. They may be overexcited, shy or unsure at first, but by letting them set the pace and respecting their boundaries, you can help them feel safe.
Give them a quiet place to rest, and many will soon choose to come to you for fuss, cuddles and companionship when they are ready.😍

PLEASE, PLEASE NEUTER YOUR CATS!

We along with many other rescue centers are bursting at the seams with so many dumped or unwanted pregnant cats and kittens😢

We would love to take in more, but at the moment we can't until we find purfect homes for the cats we have, some of which have been with us for far too long like Zen & Sage - since October and Nori & Poppy - since March.

These beautiful cats were all found as strays😢 and are looking for quiet homes as they are quite shy and nervous. They just need some time and patience to adjust to a home environment. Once they trust you and feel safe and secure, they will reward you with unconditional love and purrs.🥰

We would prefer to rehome them together: Zen & Sage and Nori & Poppy, as they came in together and are bonded pairs.💕

If you can open up your heart and home for a beautiful cat or two, please give us a call on 01279 501547.

ANOTHER HAPPY TAIL: Back in December, Ace came into us as a very scared and nervous stray cat😔. With the gentle care he received from our wonderful staff and volunteers, he has since come a long way in learning to trust the humans caring for him.

In July, Ace was adopted by Kathryn Langmead 🧡 and she was very happy to recently report that "Ace has been incredible and has fully made himself at home🏠; eating well, using his litter tray, playing with toys and running around. He has been allowed out the last 2 days and has come back lots of times when you call him. 🐈‍⬛

He is a joy to have around, he purrs all the time, loves a fuss and has been cuddling up with me in the sofa and last few nights has slept on my bed 💕 we love him so much. He even let me brush him yesterday" 😊

We are so very pleased he has settled in so well with his perfect forever home - nothing less them he serves.🥰

If you too think you could open up your heart and home to one of our beautiful cats or even dogs - please check out out website to see who is available and then give us a call on: 01259 501547.

HAPPY TAIL: We love nothing better then to hear that our adopted animals have settled in well and loving their now forever families. 🥰 Here is a lovely update from her adoring parents Elizabeth and Philip Jackson.

"Cheesy is doing really well. We’ve renamed her Marge and she is an absolute sweetheart. We love her to bits, she’s adorable. She’s been coping really well in the heat, and loves to chase ice cubes around her water bowl.

From day 1 she’s been affectionate, curious and playful. She’s eating and drinking really well and has settled in like she’s always been here. She’s having a slow introduction to our other cat and loves chasing insects around the kitchen.

She is impatient to go outside, but has to wait another 4 weeks. In the meantime she likes to shout at the birds while sitting on the windowsill and playing with her toys.

Here are a few pictures of her, as you can see she has made herself at home ❤️

If you are interested in adopting one of our gorgeous cats like Marge, then check out our website to see who we have and then give us a call on: 01279 501547
