Our wonderful Manager Dan is taking on the huge challenge of running 30 miles (more than a Marathon!) along the River Stort and back on SUNDAY 25TH OCTOBER!🏃🏻

The Stort 30 is a 30 mile run down some very thin riverside paths, with often muddy terrain, as well as stones and tree stumps often in the ground.🌳

It is the furthest he has ever run before and knows it will be tough going, but seeing first hand how many animals at ARC will be helped will keep him focused on the end goal, which is to raise as much money as possible to help our animals waiting to be adopted.

The money raised will help with the vet costs of dental work, surgery for dog breeds with problems like skin and breathing issues, as well as vaccinations, neutering, microchipping. This is on top of keeping all our animals warm in winter, as well making the cat enclosures for the cats even better for their welfare.

The Animal Rescue Charity has been going 35 years, and can only keep going thanks to peoples' generous donations - so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, no matter how small.

We are delighted to hear from his new owners, Oliver Taylor and Hannah Davie that dear Lennie has recovered from his BOAS surgery and has settled well into his new home and is getting on great with their other dogs and family members.💕🏠

The operation was three parts out of the possible four and Lennie is now drinking less water than he used too, and is now able to go on walks no problem.

The cost of this operation was supported by a very kind donation of £2,000 from the Prep School Bishop's Stortford College.

Donations like this, is very much appreciated and helps with our vet bills. If you would like to help with a donation please click the link below.

Ellie is one of our fantastic volunteer dog walkers and volunteer receptionist, and now she is doing the Yorkshire three peaks to raise money for us. So far she is up to £1000. With winter coming up and bills increasing, keeping all the paws here warm is more expensive than ever so every little helps.

This October Ellie will be doing 24 miles of hiking, 1,585 metres of elevation over 3 mountain peaks and needs all the motivation she can get.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. There's a lot happening at the arc at the moment and we look forward to showing it all off in the next few months.

What a little hero is Dash 🥰, one of our adopted dogs who organised a local sponsored doggie walk on Sunday with his friends and raised £150.00 for our little charity!🧡😁

After helping his daddy set up the gazebo, he then led the way with his friends and family on their lovely walk around Hothfield Heathlands.
They finished the walk with some lovely refreshments and treats back at Dash's pad!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts dear Dash and family Diane Bowker, you did a fabulous job in raising so much money to help the other animals we have waiting for their forever homes.

CAT OF THE MONTH: MICHAEL, who is a chatty young boy, who loves a fuss and cuddle.

Michael was bought to us from a vet after he had initially been found stray😢 He is a friendly boy and will sit on your lap and have strokes and cuddles. He loves to play with a little kicker toy and enjoys dreamies and dry treats.

Sadly, Michael is not getting on with the other cats in our care, so we think he would be best suited to a home with no other pets, so he can have your undivided attention.🥰
