Already smelled them and they’re gorgeous! Not to mention we used the complete spray to help speed up drying yesterday and it literally made the whole shop smell DIVINE. ✨

With rescheduled appointments due to the heat, you might feel desperate to help your furry friend out by shaving off some of their fur! 🥵

Instead of discouraging you, we’re here to help so that you can do it safely- and we don’t have a mess (or as much of a mess) to fix when you next visit!

One of the biggest mistakes people make is clipping against the coat with a blade that’s too long to get through properly. This leaves lines, patchiness and can pull on the coat- not to mention it takes the coat shorter than intended and risks damage to the skin.

For the smoothest finish:
• Ideally the coat is clean and dry and free of knots.
• Clip WITH the direction of the coat growth
• Use a length that can glide through the coat easily- if there are knots it is safer to go as short as possible to avoid painful pulling.
• Work in long, steady strokes instead of short choppy ones

Your dog — and your finish — will thank you.

REMEMBER - we don’t advise clipping double coated breeds such as shepherds and huskies due to the risk of ruining the re-growth of the coat. To make these breeds comfortable we recommend learning to line brush and comb through the coat to remove undercoat and allow air to circulate to the skin.

In the interest of safety of your dogs and our staff who are just as vulnerable to heatstroke during the grooming process, we will be closing tomorrow at 1pm.

We have a freezer full of raw food if you need to stock up, or would like to use some for enrichment for your pups!

Most owners don’t realise they can accidentally make matting worse at home 👀

We see this all the time after home baths — especially with long coated dogs.

A damp coat that isn’t dried properly can tighten into painful mats very quickly, especially under harnesses, behind ears and around legs.

The good news?
These are super common mistakes and they’re completely fixable once you know what to look for 🐾

🚨 HEAT WAVE NOTICE 🚨

Your pets’ welfare always comes first. During periods of extreme heat, please carefully consider whether your dog needs to travel to their grooming appointment.

While we can absolutely adapt grooming services by using cool water baths and no-heat drying methods, travel itself can still pose a serious risk — especially for brachycephalic breeds, elderly dogs, giant breeds, puppies, or pets with underlying health conditions.

Cars, pavements, and even short journeys can quickly become dangerous in high temperatures. For some dogs, prolonged travel simply may not be safe or comfortable.

If you’re unsure whether your appointment is suitable in this heat, please message us. We would always rather rearrange an appointment than put any pet at risk. 🐾

Stay safe, keep walks short, provide plenty of fresh water, and never leave dogs in vehicles — even for a minute. ❤️

What a lovely surprise ☺️

We’ve been nominated for a community star award for our community work!

For those who don’t know, we’ve been providing valuable work experience opportunities for young people who struggle to be a part of mainstream education- in partnership with The Snooty Pooch CIC.

We’ve also got our wonderful new charity to help out who we are hoping to do lots of work and fundraising for in the future- starting with our work experience day for them which will provide them with key skills to ensure the pups they rescue are feeling comfortable and clean 🖤

Thank you all for your support over the past year, it means the world to us 🌍
